Hi Guys,
Thanks for having me on the forum, I hope someone will give me a hand.
I have recently download and installed the MinGW compiler based on a book I'm currently reading.
Now it asked me to verify the compiler by typing in gcc -v
I have done this and it doesn't work.
I have created a path variable in Environment Variables ;C\MinGW\bin;
This is still not working for me.
I'm running windows xp (don't know if this matters). I asked this question on another forum and was given this answer:
When you open a command window and run the command 'set' (without the quotes) does it list the bin directory in the path variable?
And yes, there lots of 'bin' on there even one that says this:
C:\MinGW\bin
This is where I got it from:
MinGW - Minimalist GNU for Windows | Get MinGW - Minimalist GNU for Windows at SourceForge.net
Would really appreciate some help. I stuck on page 11 of my text on C- Installing a compiler!!
Cheers,
Jess.
