Checking function arguments

This is a discussion on Checking function arguments within the C Programming forums, part of the General Programming Boards category; I didn't even know that prototype parameters can be named. I think I misunderstood the whole point of prototypes....

    Prototypes are very important because they are typically queried for information - such as parameter names. The compiler itself just ignores those names, so they are not important in a language sense, but for readable code - it is.
