Simple but powerful free source C template for Window Interface Clients

Please help me finding some quite simple (but not too much) free source C template for Window Interface Clients, dealing with menus, buttons, text entering, easy link to commands like socket connections and similar operations
    Under windows and/or linux

    Basically an easily programmable window

Perhaps you're looking for a GUI library, to handle the menus and buttons and so on, and a separate networking library for sockets etc.

For a C GUI library -- I suggest GTK+. It works on Linux and Windows too (if you include the right DLLs).

Do you have any experience with C programming? GUI programming isn't exactly simple, nor is network programming.

    ok thanks
my C experience is medium for a-few-processes programs with mainly numerical tasks
<i have nearly no experience of GUI programming

Under windows I saw MS gives tools to drag and drop buttons, lists, etc. directly on the window having the C++ code automatically produced and browsable

Does GTK+ come with something similar??

    thanks
