    You will not find a more complete analysis of important algorithms in computing. Its very heavy on the maths side of things. All code shown is in assembly language for a mythical computer. You will find no c/c++ in these books. I have them but I would have to say they are probably not for the faint hearted!

    Knuth is a famous computer scientist who did some great work in theoretic computer science, and his books "The Art of Programming" are almost legendary.
