human rights - how far do they extend

several people have been arrested under the prevention of terrorism laws as they are suspected to be members of the al-quayda (sp?) network. It has been reported that they are being kept in roofed cages and some have been bound and gagged. These individuals were highly likely to be planning terrorist attacks and human rights groups are shouting its unfair. I a gree with human rights in theory but how far should they extend?

I don't think most Governments would give their small toes to preserve human rights against a threat to "national security" (rightly or wrongly).

    >Wrong, how we transported the Terriorst is perfectly acceptable. If we left them in afgainistan they probley would have inciteded a riot, and had they not been bound they would have tried to crash the plane (and probley killed)

Where in my post did I critisise the way in which anyone was transported?

if one gave 3 billion souls the transition, and of it they were correctly regenerated [recycled] [reborn] [reiterated] in due fashion [by the giant thyimble in the sky], would it make one a crimal, would it make you feel down?

life your lyfe as if you'd transition tomorrow...

    > It has been reported that they are being kept in roofed cages and some have been bound and gagged.<

This is correct, though not nearly as crued as it sounds. From what I understand they are in a hastily built prison with cell walls being made of chain link fence and a roof over the whole thing. I don't know if it is indoors or not.

The justifacation I've heard for both this and the binding and gagging is that apparently these prisoner's have no problems at all attacking a guard even if they are at gunpoint (this includes biting the guards)

They are POW's i gues technically though so....

I'm not sure the arrests have been under the prevertionof terrorism....most of them I believe (could be wrong) were activly fighting agienst US and/or coalition troops.

The arrests have been in the UK, under the prevention of terrorism act.

The joke of it is that we in Britain have given a passport to one of their leaders(can't remember his name) and several countries have asked us to extradite suspected terrorists but we haven't done it as we have no extradition agreement with these countries, so these terrorists are living here getting benifits I have to work to provide!!THAT MAKES ME MAD!!

Yes - they're living in cages... In Afghanistan, they were living in caves, without any food... Which is worse? Is it considered a human rights violation if their standards of living are actually increased?
