    Question Outlook express

Can anyone tell me where the outlook express contact list is, and how to read it with a c program?

Answers to both of those questions would be ideal, but just knowing where the contact list is would help me.

edit - sorry I think I put this in the wrong forum, I'm not sure how to move it :/

how to find out where your particular address book is you do the following: Click the addresses button on the toolbar and then do Help, About Address Book - this will then give you the path and the name of the address book (everyone will have a different path to you probably) - the address book is stored as a wab file (windows address book).

I dont know how to get the information out of the book using C but you can export the information to a csv file and manipulate that - go to File, Export, Address book and choose comma separated variable

you've probably got version 5 - the best way to find it is to search your hard drive for .wab files the places were they could be are (dependant on which operating system you ran and were you instaled the product to):

    drive:\program files\outlook express\your username\
    drive:\documents and settings\your logon name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book
    drive:\%Windows%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express
    drive:\%Windows%\Profiles\your username \Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express

therefore rather than hunting in these directories just kick off a search for *.wab through your entire hdd

Hmm maybe it's in the registry like MSN messenger contacts.

    ah it's an option
    There's two options:
have contacts as a *.wab file
or store them in the "microsoft outlook contact store"
    whatever that is.
