Well...... good for him...... at least it shows he is like the thousands of other kids his age....

It was extreamly amusing to watch Nicholas Whitchall (News Reporter) standing outside St James's Palace talking about the press statement the royals had just released...... The gravity laid on this matter is hilarious....... its as if someone died....... LOL

it really really annoys me when i read the bbc web page and this unimportant bit of trivia is the top headline especially when stories such as the shooting of someone in belfast and the suspicious death of a 13 year old in swansea are further down on the page as if they were less important.

    Exactly!.....

Often the media here seems to think its target audience are stupid old codgers with low IQ's who are only interested in the trivial things in life.....

The average daily tabloid newspaper will devote the first few pages to David Beckam's stupid tattoo or stupid hair-cut or stupid wife.......then about 5 pages back you will find things that are more serious....

Nice to know the U.S. isn't the only one with a clueless press corps :)

CNN isn't so bad, but the broadcast networks are a little sensational. For the record, I get all my news here.

fordy - i could not agree with you more - the average british newspaper is full of garabge like soap news as if it were real life, celebrity news and crap like horoscopes. The important news is left for the last pages. In several papers the frst few pages are filled with soft-porn. The majority of british newspapers should be classed as comics rather than newspapers!

Most of the others are facist tory royalist suport stretched over pages and pages. There is only one british newspaper i will read.

    >is that to say that any recreational user of cannabis is a "pot-head"?<

No, what I meant is so many pro-weed books and resources and such are written or created from a biased pro-weed point of view that is smothering to the people that are anti-weed. This isn't good for us (the pro-weed people) because it scares off people standing neutral on the issue.

The book is written in a very scientific, un-biased, optimistic type sense. It's not one of those "We should legalize pot so we can all roll a fat blunt and get stoned." type things. It's a "We need to look into the many uses of hemp because there could be a potential for hemp and marijuana in today's society." type book.

    howdy,
maybe the tac to take is to stop comparing smoke to alcohol. the general sense of drink is the snot slinging out of control red neck crashing his pick up truck into a tree, then he goes home and beats up his wife and dog.
if the aproach was based upon the benifits of canibis without comparison to anything else maybe it wouldn't be seen as another destructive drug that destroys lifes.

the first time is an experment after that it use.

Stoned Coder it has been decriminalised in the uk, you are permitted to own a use personal use (about upto an eighth), for personal use. (since jan 1st)
Oh really so you believe that counts as decriminalisation. An eighth would not last a day! You can go to the pub! I cant go to the "coffee shop". Thats my idea of decriminalisation.

However it is not legal to buy, sell or grow it - catch 22!
Its a freaking plant. Why cant i grow it if i want to.Again this is not decriminalisation. I could still get nicked for a small garden and probably for intent to supply carrying a penalty of up to 15 years depending. This is not right. I am a normal law abiding citizen who likes to puff rather than drink. I have a family so i can not afford to buy cannabis so i grow it. I could go to jail. Worse I could lose my family. And you say its decriminalised. Dont make me laugh!

    i agree with you

cannabis is a Class B Narcotic, so it carries 5 years and a 1000 for possesion and 15 years and unlimited fine for traficking or possession with the intent to supply. You can only grow it with a home office licence. THe thing is there are countries in europe where it is legal and they suffer no ill consequences from health, death, socio or otherwise.

hey stonedcoder - i live in the uk too, you reckon you could post me some?

i still think government authorised sales would be a good move - they could control it and even tax it!

These are exactley the people i spoke of earlier. in the good old USA the prisons are full of them. i'll bet you dont spray paraquate(sp) on yours, we leave that up to the american government.

Here in Aust, only the politicians (ACT) and South Aust have decriminalised pot.

Can grow 4 (I think in SA) or have 50g!

Here in WA it is moving that way and 50g or 2 plants is an on the spot fine, in some areas.

I know someone caught with nearly 90 mature plants (worth AU$1500-2000 each here) in thier suburban backyard, they got a AU$1,500 fine (US$750 or ST500). That included the lawyer's fee as well! (and they had done some time for harder stuff in the past as well!) Shows that the police / courts don't care but pay lipservice to the law.

90 is excessive. He had plastic flowers and tomatoes stuck to them.

I should clarify, I know a lot of lawyers not drug dealers.
