Osk, Pastrana is either nuts or he's got big big nuts.
If everything ends up the way it should be, it'd be great for Colombia. Well, you don't have to worry too much until the 20 th of Jannuary, that's when the pact of Zona de Distensión ends. Then you'll know what will happend. Raúl Reyes says that they still believe in the Peace Process (for the next 48 hours only, though).

BTW, I'm sure that all the cartels in Colombia have more money than your government, so I'm glad the yankees are with you. They invest a lot of money because of all the coca coming from Colombia to the US cost (I know they do), so it's worth for them to try to erradicate this problem from its base.

    Good luck man!!

    Buena suerte chaval!!

Hey, hey, hey... I'd like to heard the other side of the story: is it a rebel or a terrorist but these people have something they fight for. What's that reason in Colombia?

For what it's worth, the actions of the U.S. government don't always reflect the desire of U.S. citizens (or for that matter, the majority of U.S. citizens) :)

Money! what else! if they have their own zones, they can kidnap people, ask for money and (this is what gives them more money), do drug business, and while they're on this, they're fine.

Colombia (with an O, not a U, pleeeeeeease!) is not so poor as you think, they don't have all that money, and the colombian military is much more powerful and has more manpower than the guerrillas, but, with all the corruption there's in here, you will notice that war is business. And this is what lots of people think: if the 'peace' conversations end, the war starts. And that's not true!, we've been at war for about 40 years, and it gives the military more money. So the question is: does the military really wants the war to end?
