    Cool cool cd burner

We are going to get a cool CD burner that after writing the CD, you take it out, flip it, put it back in, and it'll burn a lable (with color) - that you design in some of their software - on the CD. Any one else have one? Do they work good?

Are you talking about the Lightscribe burner?

    Yes, they work quite well.

    Those things do color!?!?

I bought a LightScribe DVD Burner a few weeks ago and I've made your everday basic labels (no color). I wonder if mine does color or if you need special color capable discs. I'll have to experiment a bit later and see if mine does.

I've still got my receipt from Best Buy here...

Looks like what I bought was a 30 Pack of single-layered DVD discs (4.7 GB) for about $30. So I guess a buck per disc. I guess LightScribe CDs would be a bit cheaper.

Sorry, Queatrix. There's no color. I have one. Got it about a month ago.

Can someone attach a picture of what a finished label may look like? It sounds pretty cool. Is it toned? As in billions of shades of gray, or is it just black or white? Does the label take long to 'etch'?

Notice they are all shades of a base color it seems... The only ones that look like they have other colors, are just how light reflect (refracts?) off of the CD. Very cool though!
