Yes.
Oh wow yes. I sort of grew up on these boards and 99% of what I said when I was like 12 makes me wonder why I wasn't banned.
Hey, who unbanned Xterria? ;)
Except in Prelude's case, instead of looking back and saying "Wow, I didn't know how to use pointers!", it's more like "Wow, if I had used the Melkin-Schwartz Algorithm instead of the Jameson Algorithm, I could have shaved a couple of milliseconds off each iteration! God, I was such an idiot!"
*The Melkin-Schwartz Algorithm is patent-pending, until I'm able to change my name to Melkin-Schwartz
I'm in the same boat as Prelude in that situation ;)Quote:

No. I only think I was a freakin moron. Now I'm the center of the universe.

Isn't that more suited to the '# of planets in the solarsystem' thread? And I think it was disproved before you were born ... sorry mate.
Actually I'm disproving most claims by stating mine a the true and valid one.
On the other hand, I used to be arrogant, now I'm just perfect.
Yeah, but fortunately people have short memories. You can regain your reputation in a few hundred posts. :)
Haha. So true, so true. You've voted, right, joe. Voted yes, right?Quote:

When I look back on posts, I see the reason I joined the boards - my first post
was helping someone, and nearly all since have been helping people as well.
I don't post questions, because I haven't come up against many that I couldn't
answer on my own through a little research/trial and error. I've given wrong
advice in the past and been corrected, and in that manner I've learned a lot of
interesting and subtle things. I never feel like an idiot, just misinformed at the
time!
I suppose that would be different if I was like many other members who got into
flame wars with some of the higher ups (namely against quzah) - that's just
stupidity squared unless you have undeniable evidence that you're right! I love
being corrected by someone more experienced - it's nice to know that there's
plenty left to learn.
I've helped a lot of noobs get started around here, and I sometimes wonder
about the possibilities of where they might end up. I enjoy tackling some of the
projects people present here for myself - easy way of finding new things to try
out.
Oh hell yes.Quote:
