I'm hoping that Apple implements a Wine-like program right into the core of Mac OS X -- similar to Rosetta, except that it wouldn't be emulating. What makes this so possible is that Apple has (or had) access to Windows source code, so they would be able to make a Wine-like application with much greater compatilbility.

The Wine developers are currently reverse-engineering the Windows API, so development goes much slower and compatiblity is harder to come by.

Didn't WinFS get canned with regards to this release?
Also I don't think it's going to ship with MSH, which would have been a major selling point to me.

I'm not sure what's going to be left when they're done removing functionality that won't make the release. Maybe a 3-D desktop?
The crows maintain that a single crow could destroy the heavens. Doubtless this is so. But it proves nothing against the heavens, for the heavens signify simply: the impossibility of crows.

That's enough to make people by it just because it's "neat".

I can imagine most of the gaming community (aka those with Unreal and similar) buying it just for DirectX 10.

Well I don't actually own a mac but I voted leopord anyway because I hope to be avoiding windows for as long as possible until it starts conflicting with development opportunities (which could be a while).
If osx comes out for the ps3 I might end up owning a copy after all, though I find it unlikely they would make such a release with the new push to intel.

Are you kidding? Apple isn't even allowing Mac OS X on regular PCs (at least not legally), and that woud be a piece of cake. I'm not so sure about their decision, I mean after all, they would probably be the leaders in the OS business if they allowed OS X to run on any machine.

I'm surprised they keep it on such tight reins, it would be nice even if it held only a quarter of the market.

Releasing OSX on regular PCs would undermine their hardware sales.

Yeah, that's was Apple was thinking all along, and look at MS.
