Core Secrets Workout - Informercials == Good?

During a late night coding and annual planning episode I caught an informercial advertising Core Secrets with Gunnar Peterson and Brooke Burke, sold in Australia by Guthy Renker. I have been (on and off) working out for the last 3-4 months and I've noticed some differences, but this program looked like a much, much more rounded workout than I'm currently doing.

Has anyone here tried this program? And what are peoples experiences with buying from infomercials? At AUD$39.95 x 3 months (with a free excercise ball) it seems like a fair deal and the 30 day money back thing sounds good, but do companies like this generally stick to these?

My wife and I own the ball (our 2nd ball of that type) and the videos... and we bought it online for $45 USD w/ shipping... then found it a week later in Target for $35

It's pretty good... and we still use it. I think the ball method is very good and does help to tone muscle, especially the mid-section. They give you a 25 min workout and a 60 min workout and a bunch of cards with other exercises. The 25 min one gets boring quick and doesn't appear too hard except for a few of the exercises. Other exercises are hard even after doing it for a while and you'll find it's more about keeping your balance on the ball that tones the muscules than doing anything else. Make sure you have some other weights as well to get the full use out of it.

That's excellent Ober, thanks. So you had no troubles with the whole teleshopping side of it?

What do you mean by other weights - I have a pair of 4KG dumbells, is that enough?

teleshopping side? We ordered it, it arrived, no issue.

Just a light pair of dumbells is all you really need (I vary between 8lb and 15lb dumbells depending on the exercise). They're used to add tone... and trust me, this is more of a toning workout than a muscle buiding workout, so make sure you're getting it for the right reason.

I don't think you should buy from infomercials. It will just encourage them.
