I hated living in the dorms/apartment with all those people; fortunately, I moved out already.

Anyhow, in my experience, there's nothing worthwhile doing about it but moving somewhere else. People don't do dishes, people turn up music that you despise, etc...etc, and unless you have a gun to point to their heads, just be selfish just like they are.

I had the same situation with the AC, but what I did whenever I woke up at some point early in the morning, I'd just turn off the AC.

edit: btw, 74 F is too cold enough for me, probably because I come from some tropical country.

70 is 21C - that is much warmer then our bedroom is for most of the year - I guess they breed 'em weak where you are.

yah but then they'll bring up all the horrible things I do, and my argument would no long hold ground.
So the moral is before you start moaning about others, make sure your own house is in order. No sympathy.

I didn't ask for sympathy, I asked for advice.
    Hmm

Okay, advice, until your room mates have nothing to moan about you, stop moaning about them. 70/21 is in no way cold, if you are cold, put a blanket over your bed.

I always hated group assignments in school, just because the group was usually a bunch of idiots. I'm discovering that life is a group assignment.

I've found that there is simply one solution to this and related roommate issues:

Move off campus into a house/apt and get your own room. It's what I did and just think...you come back from classes, walk into your room and close the door. It's a beautiful thing. If that's not possible then it looks like your going to be miserable for quite some time. (what year are you? lol)

you should not have a problem sleeping at 70, my guess is you probably sleep naked and that is why you are cold, some boxers and a simple shirt with a wool blanket should solve that problem.

If that does not resolve the problem try visiting your doctor, you could have a cold (or something wierd) which at some points during the day makes you feel too cold or too hot.

You have AC in your dorm room?

...I generally keep my windows open everynight until at least Febuary...I have the radiators going some too, but generally I shoot for no higher than 68 when I'm sleeping...that's what blankets are for....
