    humble re?uest...

y'know, i was thinking this week about how cool it would be to see your guys' emulations of some of my screen shots... just to see what tech visions you all have...

so... if anyone of you have the time... it'd be a GREAT birthday present!!!

I'd love to, but I hate working with fonts. Tried and tried and tried and still hate doing it. Did you define your own font functions(), file structure, font editor, etc? If you did, I'd love to er......uh.....steal them from you. Fonts and text functions are such drudgery to me even though soon I'll have to do some or 'acquire' some.

I know how to do the fonts, but creating all those characters is so boring and tedious. Kudos to you doubleanti for actually getting your own fonts on screen.

Could make a small font editor in VB - maybe I could make it compatible with your font structures. It might ease the tedium somewhat.

Also read the typography stuff at Microsoft (1000 pages or so) about their font technologies.

yeah, i didn't have to do it by hand as much as you might think... here's what i ended up doing...

had a program spit out the ascii characters in a windowed dos screen... [7 by 11 font size] and i took a screenshot... and spit that out to a bitmap... then i read in that bitmap, and translated it to a bitmapped text datafile that i could read... 3072 bytes [256 asciis * 8 * 12 pixels * 1 pixperbit = 3072 bytes]...

coincidentally, now i want to have it where it doesn't have that 80 by 40 [in 640] alignment... so i'm working on extending my font file to include horizontal scan line boundaries per each ascii...

but anyway, you guys all have the data file... it's a pretty straight forward read... if you have any ?uestions about it i'd want you to ask... thanks!
