ok, I finally signed up. Could one of you give me some words of advice and explanation? my question is...is a 1000 fram WU a big one...it looks like it is big because it is said to complete in 20days!! is there any way I can switch to smaller WU? also, for those on XP are you using graphical or console version?

some entropy with that sink? entropysink.com

It looks like the official page is updated more often, judging by the total score we have there vs the total score we have on the detailed stats page. Or am I missing something?

I think it depends sometimes I have WU of 2500 frames and they go pretty fast , sometimes I get WU of 250 frames and compared to the one of 1000 or 2000 something it goes slow

Im on XP using the graphical version although anytime I enter full screen mode it will bring the full screen down which is somehow annoying. I havent tried the console version yet.

I'm on XP using the graphical.

The number of frames isn't really a good indicator of how long it will take. Also, it takes a few frames for the program to get a good estimate of how long the whole WU will take. The estimate will probably drop.

You can get bigger (and more point-worthy) WU's if you find the checkbox that says "Allow receipt of work assignments and return results greater than 5 MB in size". It's under the Connection tab of the Configure menu option.
If I did your homework for you, then you might pass your class without learning how to write a program like this. Then you might graduate and get your degree without learning how to write a program like this. You might become a professional programmer without knowing how to write a program like this. Someday you might work on a project with me without knowing how to write a program like this. Then I would have to do you serious bodily harm. - Jack Klein

Yeah axon... it'll help the team more (but may be more memory intensive for you) if you select that option. And I recommend the GUI version. It's easier to use.

I think the official page is generated as you access it... try checking it right after you complete a WU and you'll see it in action.

the detailed stats page, however, is not (the time is on the upper-left)

I agree, we're doing really well so far! I think we can definitely get more members though, seeing as we have over 15k users here...I would think we could get more than just 40 people.

Maybe we could not allow new users to post until they've completed 5 work units?

I could post an announcement about it on the main site as well. Or do you prefer to keep it cboard-exclusive?
