That's a pretty good answer, I'll go with that.

My vote goes to Thantos and Prelude. Of course prelude seems to be catching flack from some of the new posters on a few threads I read. I must admit my bias is based on who I recieved help from this year.

    Hello,

Hmm, I don't know who to vote for. There are a few members who joined this year that actually stayed around and contributed to this community.

I commend Salem for his all-time efforts. Same with Govtcheez, Prelude, Quzah, Thantos, Sean, Zach, Bubba, Perspective, and so on and so forth. They are always helpful. Their posts count for every bit. And on the side, Salem has an awesome avatar.

Segmentation Fault: I am an error in which a running program attempts to access memory not allocated to it and core dumps with a segmentation violation error. This is often caused by improper usage of pointers, attempts to access a non-existent or read-only physical memory address, re-use of memory if freed within the same scope, de-referencing a null pointer, or (in C) inadvertently using a non-pointer variable as a pointer.

I'd have to give it to LiX. He really knows how to make a fellow laugh, as unintentional as it may be.

In my honest, unbiased opinion, the following are the individuals I feel are most deserving for a nomination as member of the year (I whittled them all down to a mere three). They are in no significant order other than alphabetic.

    Codeplug
    Registered User

    Prelude
    Eternally Confuzzled

    Sang-drax
    Cineast

This observation is based solely on two factors: C/C++ knowledge/experience; willingness to offer assistance to the less knowledgable and more confused (sometimes without even belittling the help-seeker!).

webmaster doesn't fit this description, but he is deserving of a lifetime achievement award (or the equivalent) for making all of this possible.
