Unsurprisingly, Pepsi and Coca-Cola strongly disagree, saying there is nothing in the drinks that can be used in pest control.
Ha, that's a joke if I ever heard one. I remember my physics teacher telling us if you leave a nail in coke it friggin dissolves.

I tried that once...Left it in some coke for about a week and nothing at all happened to the nail.

hmm maybe it just makes it shinier or something, i dunno. Or maybe you just needed to wait longer...but afterall, it can put holes in your teeth, that much I know for sure, and enamel is one of the hardest substances.

I am pretty sure that if you place a tooth in a glass of coke/pepsi it will dissolve.

I actually went to a few websites and one said the nail thing was "unproven," another that it couldn't happen, and another that you needed to use an uncoated iron nail. Maybe the iron thing makes a difference

Hmm does anyone else have trouble using smilies?

If i remember well ... some people use it to clear out rust from iron.

*edit* i searched google for : rust coke , and i got some interesting results showing different usages of coke. Here is one of them : http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/w/watervscoke.htm

What does glucose have to do with it? I mean it contributes to tooth decay, but thats because of saliva and bacteria in the mouth that ends up producing lactic acid.
