    Does anyone use Dvorak?

I've just started using a Dvorak keyboard layout, and I was wondering if anyone else here uses (or has used) it?

Hillbillie had been, but I don't know if he was anymore. Sounds like he got back to his old typing speed pretty quickly.

I've heard its faster and more effiecient than the QWERTY. Any noticiable differences Xsquared?

Well, right now, I'm typing incredibly slowly, but your hands barely need to move on the keyboard when you're typing, and I like it quite a bit.

I suppose you dont play any games?

If you do though, wouldnt that set up be odd.

    [edit]
or am i misunderstanding what we are talking about?

Do you mean Keyboard layout as in using a qwerty keyboard mapped differently?

I'm using a qwerty keyboard with Dvorak mappings. Most games allow you to remap the keys anyway, so that's not that much of an issue.

    lol ok,
I googled Dvorak and simply assumed from little illustrations that it was a whole different keyboard.

With that said, isnt it difficult to type without seeing what keys your actually hitting? I dont think I could type if I couldnt see what im hitting. I am horrible at typing, I just have good hand eye coordination

I just started using it, and so far my wpm is similar to my 7th grade wpm....hehe. But I've noticed my fingers barely need to jump around. I'm currently using a typing tutor....
