I finally went to the doctor...

The eye doctor, that is. Maybe some of you remember this thread (gasp! a poll!)

Anyways I finally went in to get my eyes checked, and I'm getting glasses pretty soon. Thought about contacts, but at the moment I'm going to just use glasses (since I only need them for a couple things)

Might be a bit hard to get used too...

Edit: Is it optometrist or opthalmalogist (sp)? I can't keep the two straight...

    Welcome!

I don't really need to wear contacts, but I find it easier than glasses. It's easier for me to put them in the morning, not have to worry about them for the day, and take them out at night. And also not have to worry about a loss of peripheral vision

    and its spelled, ophthalmologist.

Optometrist - a doctor of optometry (OD) who is licensed to examine eyes for the prescription and fitting of corrective lenses (glasses and contact lenses).

Opthalmologist - a medical doctor specializing in the diagnosis and medical or surgical treatment of visual disorders and eye disease.
Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

I guess one letter isn't too bad...at least I got that 'l' in there...
