    Dumb Customer...

At the call centre where I work I spoke with a customer and this is how the conversation went...

She: - I am calling from company xxxxxx, I want to know the status of our fault

Me:- Our engineers are looking into it and it will be fixed shortly...

She: - My boss needs to know the reason for the outage

Me:- Itís due to a under sea cable break near Bahrain, Our engineers are presently looking into it...

She: - I need to speak to the engineer then

Me:- But they are in Bahrain

She: - I want to speak to them

Me:- (with a smile) they are under water in scuba gear fixing your cable

She: - Donít they carry mobile phones

    hahahhahahhahahahahahahhahaha

Just say 'Yes, I'll put you through with them now.', place them on hold, and time how long it takes for them to hang up. It's really fun to do if you don't care about your handle time.

Make little "bubbly" sounds like you're under water. Maybe run a near by faucet

    My own experience:

Me: Thank you for calling the G6 telephone helpdesk, how can I help you?
Her: Yes my bathtub is overflowing

Me: Ma'am this is the G6 telephone helpdesk
Her: Yes my bathtub is overflowing

Me: Ma'am this is the telephone helpdesk. You need to call Facilities Maintenance to take care of the bathtub. Unless you have a telephone problem I can't help you
Her: Oh my bedroom phone isn't working

Me: That I can help you with....

Whne in Oki we had the main telephone trunk in the Pacific get cut. Talk about a very annoying few hours till we got it redirected.

Many years ago, a customer returned some taps, all angry stating that...

"The hot water is coming out of the cold tap and vice versa"

    Uh huh?!
    Such is life.

while i was working at gateway tech support i took a phonecall from an older man, he was having problems with his Dell and i was unable to explain to him why i couldnt help him.

He ended up being transferred, at his request, to my boss who eventually hung up on him. He was dense.

Where I work, the supervisor calls are much more fun, because the sup actually comes to your desk to take the call. So, if you can find another headset, you can listen in on the call.
