    Test your speed

My cable modem seems to be slacking lately and I'm just curious how other people's compare.

I just took this test a few times, and I'm averaging between 290 - 330 KBS.

    http://www.cable-modem.net/features/oct99/speed.html

Then I tried one over here and averaged about the same.

A friend of mine that lives down the hall from me said he is hitting at about 220 - 250 KBS.

Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

    This is mine at work:

    1087 kbps DL
    2113 kbps UL

I found it hard to believe too! The site was even like.. "wtf, your upload broke the 2mbit barrier!"

I can attest to that, however... I can upload like no other when I'm here at work.

edit: just to make sure it was accurate, I ran another server: 1155/1987

Comcast is what I have as well. I have noticed a HUGE reduction in my speed and the tech that came out and looked at it said there is nothing wrong and nothing he can do about it. It's not just at peak times either.

The first link I got 74 kb/s and the second one was 881/232

    Quite a difference!
