A lesson in life kids: Bed time is for your own good!

Alright, im freakin 20 years old. And I have damn irreguler hours. I stay up usualy to 2 to 4 am, then wake up at 7am for college classes. After them I either go to work for 7 hours, or go home and nap, then repeat the process. So im sleeping and waking at really irreguler intervals.

Any way, mom's always told me I need to have a bed time to make sure I get enough sleep, and im like at 20 all "Im an adult, i go to bed when i want!"

Well heres a story that JUST**(10 mins ago) happend to me.

Alright, I took a nap, I dont remember what time exactly. But any ways, at 7:08 i awake naturally, very groggilly and notice the clock says "7:08". At this point I have forgotten I innitially took a nap. So im thinkin its freakin 7am TUESDAY-TOMMOROW! So i start throwing on my clothes, and I get a call, i pick up the phone and its a telemarketer. I still think its 7am, and im ........ed off cause hes calling at such an early time. Im all "My parents are f-n home." and hes all "well what time will they be home?", and im all "Like 2 in the freakin after noon." and hes all . "uh, ok" *click*. So now Im mad and ........ed off at telemarketers. I finish dressing and walk out to my car - get in and start the engine. I start thinking "Wow" its darker then usual for 7am. Usualy its getten bright by now. So i start driving to school. For 7 minutes Im trying to figure out why its so dark. Im thinking maybe daylight savings time has to do with it. And i start like thinkin no, we dont do day light savings here.. FINA
LLY, out of no where it dawns on me - I $$$$in took a NAP, it must be 7pm Monday!!!!. So i pull over at the Texaco, walk in and im like - "hey bud, tell me, is it 7pm Monday" and hes all well its monday 7:20 pm..." and im like fuuuuuucccccckkkkkkkkkkk. So i bought a box of chocalate dohnuts and came home.

It has nothing to do with irregular sleeping as far as I can see, just being absent-minded Hey, don't worry we all zone out and forget little things like where we are going, what we were thinking about, or to unzip your pants before you pee...

    Ooops

Like I said, this had just happend, so when I posted this message I was still a bit groggy- and this has ended up in the wrong forum!! Perhaps some moderator might move it apporpriatly.

I dunno. Thats the first, and it was pretty extreme case of absent mindedness. It was more a lot of coincidences lining up to create the illusion I suffered.

I once woke up at 2:30 AM, and for some reason was convinced that it was 7:30 AM and that I was late for work. Hilarity ensued.
You ever try a pink golf ball, Wally? Why, the wind shear on a pink ball alone can take the head clean off a 90 pound midget at 300 yards.

See that part on your clock that says AM/PM? Learn what it means; use it.
    Away.

You have NO idea how small that little am / pm message is. Its very very small. And REALLY REALLY hard to see when your eyes are still blury from slumber!

I always find telemarketers a great emotional outlet. If you're angry, you can shout at them. If you're in a playful mood, you can tease them into thinking that you are going to buy something for half an hour, and then hang up and unplug the phone.

I woke up one morning on holiday in Cyprus, (about 10 years ago actually). I felt a bit rough and couldn't remember anything about the evening before. I had a shower and started to think of a plan for the day. After a bit of breakfast, I went out onto the balcony for a final weather check, and noticed it was darker and the nightclub up the road's lights had come on.

Ah, that's why I couldn't remember much about last night, it hadn't happened yet. Yes, I'd fallen asleep after coming back to my flat from a slightly boozy lunchtime session.

Ah well, down to the Travellers Pub 2 buildings away to tell the guy there what had happened and get a few Keo's down my neck before todays new, pale and somewhat lost "young ladies" were dumped off from the airport bus...

Some of us have travel alarm clocks that still have mechanical hands that point out the time.

Maybe you could get a clock that displays military time so it would say 19:08 instead of 7:08 and you wouldn't get confused.

The 24 hour analog clock we had at my shop was done up differently. The minute hand moved normally, but the hour clock went around only once per day. So at midnight it was pointed up, at 0600 it was to the right, 1200 down, etc.

Would have like to have that during the 4 day typhoon that hit us. After playing starcraft for 4 hours (one game btw) in a room with no windows we kinda lost track of the time of day.

I used to have a house on a little island. No cars, need a boat to get there. Nothing to do but fish for blue swimmer crabs, watch the boats go by and drink beer.

Time had no meaning there, I was on a permanent holiday at that point.

After I got sick of people asking the time I got a broken clock, set it to 2.51 and put it on the wall.

Ahhh, Yunderup, the place time stopped.................
