    Why doesnt the UNIX Kernel shrink the stack?

    It has something to do with solar flares bouncing off Mercury and igniting some swamp gas that set a cow on fire and made dinner.

    It does. You can use http://www.mcsr.olemiss.edu/cgi-bin/man-cgi?sbrk+2 with incr negative.
