I love it that noone thinks to add Win ME.

No...I'm not being pedantic, its just that if I try to trace the lineage of windows in my mind I always jump from Win 98 to 2000 forgetting ME........

they are really different lineages though. 98 came from 85, 2000 came from NT 4.

Maybe its just because I personally went from 98 to 2000 bypassing ME. I hated ME, and still do..... Its possibly the lamest of the Windows range. I found 98SE much better....... Just my 2c

    Cool Amiga lives on.....

Just look at KDE for Linux... obviously based on Workbench. Except workbench looked better! All linux guis are horrid things. They have a long way to go before the reach anything thats user friendly.

I suppose the BEST of would be a mixture of things...

win9x front end. Simply the easiest and best looking gui around.
*nix beneath the gui for sheer power....

At the end of the day, my fav os has to be OS/2 Warp. i went from a 386/ win3.1 system to a P1 90mhz with OS/2. my god!!!! what a difference! Now theres was an operating system!

Oh, yeah. The one that has only one vote. Just kidding. I'm sure it's a great OS. What are the benefits?
