    Thumbs down

Where do you people come up with questions like these? I really don't think it has anything to do with requiring support from others. This General Discussions board is getting so much crap on it. Seriously, who really cares if you cannot decide if you want to be with a girl who is a virgin or not.

And once again, Ethic wins the argument.
Nah, it was his hottie comic book friend who won it for him.

On a side note, blackrat, wtf are you talking about? No one won anything. There was nothing to win.

N/m I'm not making another post in this thread of this nature again; it's all pointless arguing.

    >and theres no such thing as a "snork".

    I didn't say "snork", I said "spork"!!!!

Jeez, is it too much for me to ask that people read what I have
to say before replying to it? If you're not interested in anything I
say, or don't feel like reading it, fine. But then don't reply to it.

Just because someone believes that sex before marriage is ok does not make them immoral. The one major problem I have with most religions, and most religious people for that matter, is this belief that there is some sort of universal morailty, there isn't. Morality is the conduct that you hold yourself to, that is based upon your own logical conclusions about how you should act. Personally I don't see the downside to safe sex outside of marriage, thus I don't see it as immoral. It is for the same reason that I think light drugs shouldn't be illegal, if someone wants to screw themselves up with drugs be my guest, I don't want to but its their choice how they want to live their life. Go ahead and call people immoral all you want but when you do it is nothing more than your opinion, it is not a universal truth.

In Bangladesh, if 100 people vote, you will find more than 99% voted "No".

But the result is more than opposite in the world of USA. I guess this is because of cultural differences.

    For elchulo2002,
When you love someone, that's always unpredictable, and you threw that issue before you love her, except you know the fact after starting to love. Anyway, you better ask yourself. He will provide you the best answer.

I wouldn't say morality was entirely logical, it involves elements of reasoning but thats merely used to decide how to resolve a moral dillema in light of core moral values that you get from social interaction and upbringing.

Most religious people (or at least those who describe themselves as such) don't have a lot of problem with it either, apparently. Think about it - most of the country would describe themselves as some sort of religious, but most people have sex before marriage.

And chulo - Don't let the fact that she's slept with a couple guys bother you. She's with you now. If anything, it means she'll know what she's doing.

edit: And the entire morality argument's total BS.

Well, being that I am 18 now, and hopefully not going to be married for at least 10 years from now, I'll just go along for the ride, ( PS I know I probably won't end up marrying this girl, I just got to thinking about this question). If it's "meant to be" which it probably isn't, I think that 10 years from now, my mind should be clear of the issue, thanks guys for your replyes, they really helped.

I don't agree, and I can explain why having multiple sexual
partners is immoral. And despite what a lot of you people think,
there are some fundamental aspects of morality that don't change.
It doesn't matter if the practice is socially accepted or not, that
practice can still be considered immoral; which is where Clyde is
wrong. Or maybe it's where he's right. I don't know, his paragraphs
    confused me.

But first, I never made the morality argument. I never made the
wait until marriage argument, either. I'm not pro-marriage. In
fact, I think marriage should be outlawed. I see marriage as
nothing more than a method that women use to scam men.
That's why I choose not to be wealthy; because in the unlikely
event that I do get married, I wouldn't want a woman taking my
cash in the form of alimony. The only argument I ever made was
the gross-argument, and amazingly, nobody refuted it. I guess
people agree with me that having multiple sexual partners is
gross; so that's where I won. Blah, anyway, I'm really tired of
being associated with things I've never said. That snork comment
really ticked me off. Clyde better freakin' apologize for that.

Okay, now on to my bonus points. Morality has nothing to do with
religion. As Clyde even said, the only thing that matters when it
comes to morality is whether or not people are harmed. So, is
society harmed as a result of a significant percentage of the
population having multiple sexual partners? Of course it is.

There are the STDs, the unwanted pregancies/abortions,the single-
parent children. All of these have negative effects on individuals, as
well as society; and each of these are increased as people have
more and more sexual partners. There, I win... even more.

Score: Ethic 700. Everybody Else: 5.

None of those things need to happen, social advance in education and scientific education in medicine will do alot towards getting rid of them. Most of us who have had sexual partners have neither contracted STDs nor have unwanted children.

Picking sex as a moral standpoint is arbitrary because it doesn't directly harm anyone (almost every activity has social risk factors, driving, sport, reading -myopia, television - wasted man power, etc.), and pointless because it goes up one of against humanties strongest drives.

What's more sex has social benefits; for one it makes people happy, and for two it makes people healthier by boosting the immune system.

    Oh yea:

    Terribly sorry.

    oh and:

I can say anything is gross and you have no way of refuting it, strawberries are gross, handshakes are gross, everything is gross. Therefore people shouldn't do anything ever, because its all gross.
