University versus college, which should I do?

I'm interested in either going to Bentley College or Northeastern University.

I plan on majoring in business management, and Bentley is a good small business college.

But I'd rather go to Northeastern, and get a more general education. The only problem is that at Northeastern, you have to get accepted to the business college, if you want to get a degree in a business related field.

I was wondering how anyone knows how this works? Is it difficult to get accepted to a college within a university, and when do you apply to a particular college (inside a university) do you do it freshman year, or after your freshman year?

    Thanks

To apply to a certain college in a university is essentially applying with your major declared. You can either do so as an incoming freshmen or as a transfer student.
