It Does Not Matter If We Do Not Find WMDs in Iraq

    Intellectuals:
In the wake of of our stunning military victory in Iraq, President Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair are under increasing pressure to prove that toppled Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein actually had weapons of mass destruction (WMD's) before falling to allied troops. As of yet, these leaders have failed to do so. We may have destroyed one of the most repressive regimes on the planet, subdued all of the rest and spared us from the possible experience of Saddam's brutality unleashed on our citizens, but the Bush/Blair opposition still believes that we have fought this war in vain.

Pro-USA, Pro-war side of things: The Iraqi people celebrate the freedom they have gained by tearing down statues of their former leader. The country will rebuild itself through the help of USA to be stronger and better than ever before. They finally have the freedom to express their views as they want about the prior leadership without worry of harm to themeselves or their family. Etc...

Anti-USA, anit-war side of things: The Iraqi people are dieing by USA's despicable acts of bombing and shooting civilians. The people in turn act out in riots, getting killed for their views by the American soldiers. USA is only there for the oil

Doesn't matter which side you pick, there's arguments for both. I'm pro-war, and for what I believe is good reasons. Honestly though, I'd be happy if my country just left it's nose out of other people bussiness. I want to see that happen, and then see just how long untill it takes other countries to blame up for not being involved "
Should I ? Sorry.. but I always try to find the bottom/top. I guess you will find in future, everywhere in my life, even when I'm solving a problem.

I still don't understand why the war is necessary. If they wanted Saddam dead, all they needed to do was get some snipers over there and take out everyone that looks like Saddam. Then America can blame it on terrorists like they always do Am I missing something here?

maybe missing the fact that saddam is firing weapons at Kuwait etc that were supposed to have been destroyed.
I feel unhappy when you say that I did not read them.

I'm not sure about your opinion but I guess the topic is still Relevant and recent. I thought earlier and found this war a big wrong (unjustice, unlawful, bad, state crime, whatever you say) and getting signs of following my thoughts.

Did you find any similarity of you four participated? I guess I did and I can classify you all in a single group. But see my other friend's statistics of posting in the first thread on US attack in Iraq:

Zahid, it's not a matter of that in the face of these 'new' findings I suddenly clam up and don't care.

Here's my take on it from the start:

We searched Iraq for a long time to ensure there was no WMD. Iraq said there was nothing, the UN said there was nothing. Things didn't go as well as planned for Bush, so when those missiles that violated the treaty appeared he took that for all it was worth. Trying to spout out "If those are there, what else is hiding?" in order to get people behind him.

Searches continued, and finally we got 'tired' of searching. Saddam's son made a brief speach, and in escense hinted towards the fact they not only had WMD, but would use them as well. Once again, score 1 point towards the US for 'proof' of WMD.

Bush knew full and well that there was nothing to fear, as did other higher ranking military. That, IMO, was the idea all along. If we find something, they are then in direct violation and will be dealt with by the entire UN. If they don't find anything, we can still say they're hiding it then walk in and trample all over a nearly defenseles nation.

No, it is not that I don't care about this stuff, and it's not as though I don't still have just a strong opinion on this stuff, it is simply that I am getting tired of seeing the same crap over and over by you. Do everybody a favor, and start researching positive things about the US. Quit trying to pin us down as the ultimate evil, and instead find for youself all the good we do. It is the mindset that you have, one of which an entire country is pure evil and can do no good, that creates terrorism and hate.

[edit] Just thought I'd throw in real quick the simple fact that I have not yet vote on this poll.

Ohh.... your comment is for the people of Middle East. They have the worst experience but they will not give much attention to hear and many anti US people are really blind anti even in Asia. There are always a % of people are blind to believe as well as I see in local politics. They will not see the reason, they will believe what they believe. Anyway..

If you tell me, I'm not a believer (You may note this point), I don't believe what I don't find true (seeing or getting the reason through logic). I don't start after believeing. I do earlier.

I know lots of good things about USA (still the number is much greater than bad) and few bad on World Trade & Middle East policy. But as I said in case of me I started to find bad things about USA. I found this war a real evidence to start. Why not? I have the opportunity to see/know the reaction of the people around the world, the people of USA (I did not see them to oppose that much which is conflicting with me, that's why I have to know more. If it's only the government, people will oppose else no one).

You will find my earlier reference Here

No... it so IS NOT! My comment is based towards EVERYBODY with that mindset. I could give a $$$$ where they live. There are (of course) people in the USA with an equal and opposite hatred towards the people of the middle east. I was directing my comment at no one country, nor area, but instead at the human civilization as a whole.

The war was obviously a touchy situation for pretty much every country on this earth. Many Americans are blind, and as such follow blindly. It's sad, but very very true. I like to think that I am not one of these people.

But, here's another area that propaganda comes into play. The reason you did not see many American's oppose is because you don't live in the USA and you don't see our daily news. Trust me, there was MANY American's that were 100% against the war. Just because you didn't see it, does not make it so. I don't have the solid numbers right now, but I can say with very high levels of confidence that the anti-war rallys had people numbering in the hundred's of thousands. If that's not opposition, I don't know what is. Near the start of the WMD searches the majority of American's were against the war (according to surveys) but as the war came nearer (and we got propagand of our own) the support flip-flopped.

My point is simply this: even you don't have enough hard, true, and opinion free facts to base your beliefs on for this situation. Every country, every website, every newscast is going to skew the story towards their beliefs. Every time you seem to find some sort of USA bashing article, no matter how true or biased it is, you instantly come here and try to once again show your hatred towards us.

If the USA as a whole was a single member on these forums (or any forum for that matter) what you would be doing would result in many warnings, if not a ban. You are flaming to the extreme, to the point where it is beyond a flame and towards hate. Any one sided fanaticism towards anything whether it be politics, religion, etc... is dangerous.

I'm not sure about your assumption, may be your are right. But even this board did not reflect that. We are suppose to be logical. I expected majority to be in the same line. May be I did not understand.

Anyway, I guess you got my point, I got yours, except last two para. One thing must be clear, and I'm surprised to see and just noticed that you are thinking that this is hatred to you. If I really do, I would not talk about it with you all. Let me explain, what will happen if I express my hatred. What will change. Yeah.. you will return hatred. My first para is the reason why I wanted to know the difference between at, before, after the war. I don't talk with the people I hate or failed to find logical. FillYourBrain is one of them found not logical. Sorry to mention that. But needed to explain.

    Ummmm..........

Isn't this the exact reason the US used to attack Iraq?

And will use on the rest of the Axis of Evil..........

Remember 'Freedom Fries', especially in the congress dining room? What does that say about tolerance towards differing opinions in the current US administration?

Nice try novacain, please read what I already wrote about that after I was misunderstood the first time:

... My comment is based towards EVERYBODY with that mindset. I could give a $$$$ where they live. There are (of course) people in the USA with an equal and opposite hatred towards the people of the middle east. I was directing my comment at no one country, nor area, but instead at the human civilization as a whole.
Zahid, yes I do get your point I realize that you feel very strongly towards this, and that comes across quite clear. Howerver, just because you are willing to have an intellectual conversation with me (and other American's) does not mean you are not expressing what appears to be hatred of our nation . It is not through any one comment, nor any one thread that you come across as showing hatred yet through the sums of your actions. You post so much against our country, that it is quite clearly not a love towards us. Everything that comes from you is so clearly against us, that is why you appear to hate.

A hatred (or extreme dislike) does not mean that conversations cannot be held. The only thing it means is that opinions may not be shared, and both sides will remain strong to their beliefs no matter what. I do not belive you have a hatred towards me, as I do not have a hatred towards you.

Sorry if my posts are coming across somewhat choppy with incomplete thoughts. It's getting late, and I've been up for a number of hours. I'm finding it difficult to think well

The war was never about WMDs, it was about strategic positioning in the Middle East and oil. There would have been no war if Iraq was not so important with regard to oil. You may think it's wrong to go to war over oil, but like it or not, western economies are dependent upon it. There will be major economic depression, the likes of the 20s, in the West without oil. During the 70s oil crises, there was 3 day working week here in the UK.

In addition, it was important to the US to be seen to retaliate to the Twin Towers event. I can't say I blame them.

What was wrong is that the people in the UK were lied to over WMDs. Also, the West should be developing alternative fuel sources, so that we are not so dependent upon oil. The reason we not, is down to protection by the oil companies. This is wrong also.

why does any one bother with politics anymore here? what has ever come from it? flames, pinkos and more flames.

its the same crap every time, should we give in and be frenchmen or be men. should we blow money here, or some where else. what did america do wrong this time. all it ever is, all it ever was and looking at the high techy-pinko ratio probally will always be.

im not saying it a bad topic, i wouldnt mind hearing something with some thought behind it, but this is a very bad place to do it. sometimes i wonder why we have this forum.
