thanx, im glad to see people like to hear something other than radio freindly schtuff.

the mighty floyd rose can be a pain to keep in tune if you dont know how to set it up, but its not that hard to learn.

I've played guitar for 21 years; when I was younger I played much more than now. My 7 year old daughter has gotten into playing and asked the other day how she could learn to play the way I do. There's no secret, just as others have said, it boils down to practice. I'll tell you what kept me motivated, and exactly what I told her; it's a quote from Ted Nugent.

    "Practice, practice, practice...
    practice until your fingers bleed...
then you'll know you're on to something."

Learn some classical. It will help your technique greatly. I started out as an electric player but spend most of my time playing my acoustics. Keep learning your scales and learn some music theory too. For quick results, learn the 12 bar blues and some pentatonic scales to match.

I also have some old (couple years ago) songs I wrote available on my website.: Music

second that!~ (hi tgm!!) It's amazing how arrangements come together, and you'd never would have thought your fingers could bend that way =) learning theory, contrary to popular belief, can do nothing but _help_ your playing and melodic creativity! haha, yes, learn the theory, then break it down chromatically through jazz, haha. learn, unlearn, and then relearn again, just keep learning!!!

    Thanks for all the replies...

So I understand that I'm doing the right thing, and I'll try to keep doing it!

Now, I started taking lessons here in the university since we have a music instructor, and he is willing to help... And it's going on very well!
