(don't mind me Fordy... I am just pickin fights like I am not supposed to:))
anyway, what is Hawaii like?

An island... same weather all year round. Can't drive state to state. Everything is catered toward tourism. It is a nice place to visit, but a horrible place to live. I have been here four years. :) Sometimes it is hard to move to new locations when the money is good in the one you are in... :)
and where are you from, I mean, originally..

Phoenix, Arizona
Arizona by and large is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Phoenix is dry and hot, but tends to be really pretty in the spring. The mid to northern portion of the state is awesome, year round. It is the only place I know where you can be in total desert, drive two hours and be in great skiing country, big mountains, lucious forests, and not to mention the grand canyon. I never thought that I would miss a big hole in the ground, but I sure do.

Hawaii might be nice, but Florida can beat up any of your country/states :)
Give Florida a butterfly ballot and see if they can vote properly, nevermind anything else just yet.
No, more like give the democrats a change to complain, and watch what happens.
Did you think I forgot 'Elian Gonzalez'? Not just this, but the terrorists trained in Florida while all this was going on!
Wyoming owns everywhere.
end of story.
Utah, baby. Utah.
I'm sure they didn't only train in Florida, and Florida is the closest to cuba. Got any more idiotic comments you'd like me to debunk?
Newark, New Jersey, baby, the most beautiful area ever to
grace the world.
anonymoui whooeee :confused:
Stoned_Coder has gotta know that one.Quote:

Troll king, that thing about the butterfly ballots was kind of below the belt, but I agree.
I swear anyone who says that they voted wrong is either
A) A complete Moron
or
B) A Whining democrat (see A)
visit canada it owz j00... best place to ski and snowboard and thats all that matters in life... well except for surfing :)
But it isn't that best place for PROGRAMMING, and programming is life.
you should visit Colombia, it would make you all go nuts (well, come here when things get a little safer in here), but I'ts definetly the most beautiful place in the world.
mountains, deserts, rivers, lakes, snow, sea, beach, jungle, forests, paramounts, plains and much more in a place even smaller than... Texas!
It's really cool (when it's safe)

>>> It's really cool
Much of Colombia I found extremely pleasant, however, I have to say Bogota struck me as a depressing place, (apart from the gold museum). The southern cities had some outstanding architecture, Popayan deserves a mention, and most of the coastal towns on the Carribean were great, Cartagena in particular, but Barranquilla was a bit dismal.
>>> (when it's safe)
I didn't ever feel overly threatened in Colombia. The only South American country I ever came near any trouble in was Venezuela when one of the guys I was travelling with was beaten up by the police!
What? You have something to say about Sweden? :mad:Quote:

Not to you Magos. I was just playing around... trying to get under my superior's (Series X-ola 5.634.342) skin. Sweden is cool, as is most of Scandinavia.
Don't take it to heart...
At least you don't have to deal with the crap that we are going through... :)
You've been in Colombia? (duh), oh, that's great!, why did you find Bogotá depressing? cause it's larger than most european cities and we have a little traffic problem? or was it the ... why did you find it depressing?Quote:

Are you planning on coming back, if you do, I would like to meet you..

It was dirty, dusty, litter blowing around the streets, cars either stopped in queus but pumping out copious quantities of fumes, or driving in random directions at high speed, cars that have to eventually be parked in compounds with armed guards. It was not possible to walk more than a few tens of metres before another guy comes up to you with a few pieces of broken beer bottle and gives you the full story of how he can sell these emeralds at these incredible prices, or a chunk of pyrite which he insists is gold. It was not possible to sit in a cafe for more than a minute before some guy comes over and sits with you, uninvited, and starts offering you all kinds of dubious services. Almost everyone I encountered there was trying to con me. Hassle, hassle, hassle.
Try being a backpacking foreigner there, you'll find out!!!
the wealth of one ore more countries depend on the poverty of others, but you should visit Ecuador, Perú, or Venezuela, and you'll find Colombia lovely, and once you get used to living here, it becomes niceQuote:

Err, I have. Ecuador twice in fact by virtue of the fact that Quito was my start and end point for my South American odyssey. To the list you can add Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Bolivia! I tried damn hard to include the other 3 but there simply seems to be no viable way of getting from Venezuela to Georgetown in Guyana!!!
I spent the best part of 8 months travelling around down there. Many places had good parts and not so good, but I still think of Bogota as one of the worst places I visited, (in South America - I've been to far worse places on other continents).
well, sorry...

we try orr best, and -snif-, all we get is -snif- is a comment like that?

no, check this out, this is for people who have been here in bogotá
At least I went there! As for the picture, hmmm!
no, don't mind, but you should really come back here if your last visit was more than 3 years ago, because Bogotá has gone under a really good city enhancing (I know the work in spanish, but I don't know the proper translation), and it really looks A LOT better now, and if you do come here, tell me and we'll meet!
as for the picture, mmmh what?
it's just a graphical joke

I was there the best part of the week between Christmas and New Year, winter 1996/1997, (actually I was in Cartagena for New Year).
At the moment, I have no travel plans. I met a girl in South America, (SA), and we travelled through parts of Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador together, she is now my wife incidently, so we have been together in SA already. She has never been to Africa, Asia or Australasia so I guess I owe it to her to show her a few other places! Sadly, she has been rather ill the last year and a half so we've only managed a couple of short hops to local European places. Maybe one day. In general I would say that SA has a lot to offer the open minded traveller.
>>> it's just a graphical joke
Yes, I realised that.
