>>> you should visit Ecuador, Perú, or Venezuela,
Err, I have. Ecuador twice in fact by virtue of the fact that Quito was my start and end point for my South American odyssey. To the list you can add Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Bolivia! I tried damn hard to include the other 3 but there simply seems to be no viable way of getting from Venezuela to Georgetown in Guyana!!!
I spent the best part of 8 months travelling around down there. Many places had good parts and not so good, but I still think of Bogota as one of the worst places I visited, (in South America - I've been to far worse places on other continents).

no, don't mind, but you should really come back here if your last visit was more than 3 years ago, because Bogotá has gone under a really good city enhancing (I know the work in spanish, but I don't know the proper translation), and it really looks A LOT better now, and if you do come here, tell me and we'll meet!
as for the picture, mmmh what?
it's just a graphical joke

I was there the best part of the week between Christmas and New Year, winter 1996/1997, (actually I was in Cartagena for New Year).
At the moment, I have no travel plans. I met a girl in South America, (SA), and we travelled through parts of Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador together, she is now my wife incidently, so we have been together in SA already. She has never been to Africa, Asia or Australasia so I guess I owe it to her to show her a few other places! Sadly, she has been rather ill the last year and a half so we've only managed a couple of short hops to local European places. Maybe one day. In general I would say that SA has a lot to offer the open minded traveller.

Yes, I realised that.
