    When the World Ends.

Does anybody else feel like the world is ending? Seriously. There's
so many bad things... When you watch the news, you get a
feeling that things are never going to get better.

The most creepy thing is that mystery illness that's taking over
Asia. I mean, people are actually wearing surgical masks in the
streets. Everytime I see footage of that, I think, woh -- this is
how it'll end. Five years from now, after the world's population
has been reduced to 150 million or so, we'll look at that old footage
and remember that's how everything started. First the disease,
then the panic, then the riots. It's like the beginning of Steven
King's "The Stand." Lucky for me, I'm one of those chosen ones
who have an immunity to the disease. But I feel sorry for the
rest of you. I don't want to be posting messages to the Cboard
when all of you are dead...

And then you got the whole North Korea/Nuke issue...

And the economy. Even McDonald's is reporting losses. McDonald's!
People aren't even spending their money on $0.99 cheeseburgers!
What hope does any other industry have?

And the Department of Homeland security... Just thinking about
that article that some posted last week -- the one where the
anti-terror czar in Jersey says that all business will be closed
during a red-alert, that's creepy too. I can just picture my city
with nobody other than the police (in riot gear) walking the streets...
    Creepy.

I have a bad habbit of starting paragraphs with "And."

Yes, well, that Michael Jackson certainly is a trend setter, isn't he?

    hmm...

This is something I have pondered upon myself. I'm pondered upon possible solutions, but only thing I can see is waiting to see what is going to happen. I know this may sound naive, but I think we can just hope for the best. There will be deaths along the way, but that is how life is. We are born, we live for a while, then we die.

I don't think the economy will bring the world to its end. The economy rises and falls as time goes on. It's just in a slump, was starting to stabilize, still stabilizing, and then it will go up again.

All we can hope for is the least amount of casualties. And hopefully nothing happens that cannot be slowed down or reversed that inevitably will bring the world to end.

hmm... Off to think about this more, and about my post. I need to evaluate my post, and see where I stand on this.

    Just one thing to say

I live; I die. Somewhere between those two realms there is life. I don't know where, I don't question it; I merely live it.
The only good thing about freezing beyond feeling in the final Nordic ski race was that I couldn't feel that tumble I did going about 30 mph, maybe more.
On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.

Its also hit quite a number of people near where I live. They've actually quarantined a good-sized chunk of the city (Scarborough).
Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

Well the same thing could be said for other diseases that are now somewhat under control, it's just how some diseases start out. Then they're somewhat brought under control. What do you think people though when the Bubonic Plague started going around? Aids? And the world has not ended has it? Bunonic Plague is not really an issue now, and HIV well great advances are being made with it now, is possible for people to live a normal life to some extent with this, a long life......So don't freak about about this new disease.

Looks like the world is going to end very soon, probably another WW and the world is no more. This is with perspective to war.
On the other side, there are countries which import 5 times more food than any country in the world does and most of it is dumped as waste food and there are countries like Somalia where people die of malnutrition, hunger, etc.

    >I live; I die. Somewhere between those two realms there is life. I don't know where, I don't question it; I merely live it.
    That's factually neat.

Anyone familiar with the book of the Bible Revelations, or the Left behind series?

Compare those with this last century and all the wars.

The only constant in this word is death, and death is the only thing that crosses every boundary, touches everyone, crosses racial, financial, religious, base ect. There may be life, but life will kill life, eventually, life becomes death. What comes beyond death nobody knows for sure. Everyone has a different picture. Personaly, I hope its not a true state of consiousness, where we have to live forever, because that would be depressing. Im already bitter and emotionaly dead, and im not that old. What is there to live for? Maybe we all can only make one person's life better, but I for one would settle for that. Maybe I won't but I'll try, then, I'll try to ignore the world, or maybe I'll continue a losing battle against the evil in this world, such as liberal gun control freaks. I'll try not to ruin anyone's day, unless I have to.

On that note, have a good day.

    ::EDIT::

Wow, dont even recognize myself. Thats not a good sign. Wonder when i got so cheery?

You have nothing to worry about. The end of humanity is still almost a millennium away, and World War III isn't scheduled to start until 2034.

Remember 1918? Of course you do. A flu epidemic struck the world in the winter of that year, but people survived.

World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and so many other wars have happened in the 20th century, and people have survived. The 2nd Iraqi War and this War on Terrorism are going to be no different.

Yea, I'm paranoid too. I was gonna buy a gas mask with external air tanks, then wear that on the bus/train/bus/bus on the way to school. I figure it'll be safer, and much more fun!

That reminds me... I think I want a bullet-proof vest too.
