What is your favorite type of project to work on?
Games, but I mean grappling with any problem and (hopefully) solving it can be very rewarding.
games!!! big time, even though im not the best coder, hell, im not even a mediocer programmer, but i love being able to work w/a small group of guys and all of our lil peices comming together to make a game....its just cool
Games
Script engine :)
Anything that is interesting.. Presently into console games.. and presently i am working on Chess with AI
Well I can't stand doing graphics or designing stuff, so I typically design algorithms and stuff. I do a lot of web design, even though that is mostly graphics and designing stuff..., and I'm getting into a bit of AI now as well.
I prefer writing software for embedded systems, making a device to do something is nice to do.
Yes, this sounds cool, but comparing to other projects showed here, it's a bit complex no?Quote:

If you understand what you are doing it is not very complex. It can be very complex, but that is also with other things. For example making an application to do digital image processing can also be quite complex, mainly because of the math required.
I like doing a lot of server and client based things. I've been getting into IRC server coding and such, and am planning on writing a couple of basic clients as an learning experience.
Same hereQuote:

It's nice to see there is a variety here. Most places you go everyone is working on games. I myself love to make games. I just love to see it piece together and eventually make something you can show off to your friends and such, and be proud of. I just don't get that same satisfaction when doing other things. I'd like to get into server/client stuff; it looks fun.
Personaly I hate Game and Graphics/GUI coding. What I really like to do is deamon and system coding. I cant count how many times I killed the Linux kernel from "improvements" I've tried to do :)
Anything challenging. As far as going beyond that i would say OpenGL.
i like graphics programming although my experience with it is limited. that will all change over the course of next year though! (mmmm lots of GUI and graphics courses in store for me..... :) )
It used to be games, but as of late it seems to have changed to client/server applications and modifying existing programs (commonly called "Hacks")
I haven't made anything useful yet so I voted other, just little garbage programs here and their, nothing nobody would actually use:(. I finally finished reading the book on C I have so I'm attempting to make a semi-useful program now, a command line text editor. All the choices their sound really interesting though.
I've been doing a little bit of javascript, which has been interesting. I really haven't done much programming at all the past few months. Too bad too*...
