    Course Name Change: Freedom IV

I thought things had gotten ludicrous when french fries became known as "freedom fries," but now things are absurdly surreal. The local school board has decided to rename the French foreign language classes Freedom, i.e. Freedom I, Freedom II, Freedom III, and Freedom IV.

The French--excuse me, Freedom--teachers are now supposed to supplement this language and culture course with discussion about how France has opposed the United States diplomatically in the past. Teachers are further encouraged to express pro-war and pro-administration opinions even if they disagree personally.

Quels enfants bureaucratiques ! Où est ma liberté ?

It's more satire than a full-blooded lie, but it probably wouldn't be completely illegal, just moronic. Public schools cannot teach that a certain nationality is inferior, but they can present ideas in a way that the student will infer means superior. American public schools regularly teach that liberal democracy and capitalism are superior to communism, socialism, and oligarchial systems. Indoctrination of a culture's values has always been a part of education.

A hotel in Thailand has stopped taking reservations from US tourists.

The up-market resort's manager claims they (US tourists) make the resort more likely to be a target of terrorist attacks.

I agree. To add on: So they renamed a French Foreign Language class to Freedom Foreign Language? Pardon me if i'm wrong, but since when is Freedom a language? (Naming the classes sections to Freedom is close enough to renaming the course)
