Which Country To Replace USA As Superpower?

*I am not biased either against or for americans in any way
& i am not an american.


Whether you agree, or disagree with this war or any recent
war initiated by US, i believe the choices are not that pretty.

In my opinion the following are some of the cons and pros of having USA as super power.


The advantages:

US is not a homogenious nation but in fact populated and
repesented practically by every single nation on earth.
it is in effect a mini united nation.

It is run by ellected officials.(some may debate that) and a system of checks and balances.it is not a closed society.

Its not a tribal nation (like arabs or jews or french or chinese).

It gives some priority to human rights all over the globe
(be it fake or not).

It at least gives lip service to the cause of the poor on
this planet and at least initiates drives to erdicate hunger
(when was the last time a china or an arab country or israel
or germany made a national effort to feed hungry african
nation of #$%^&*).

It does not have a long history behind it .so it doesnt carry
with itself added ancient garbage & hatred of other nations.


It still carries the good virtues of its original pilgrams.and
open its doors to the needy and poor souls on this planet.


Disadvantages:

It Has killed or maimed more than 3 millions of the world
inhabitants and enslaved thousands of others since its
inseption.

its driven by capitalism and arrogance.

In general its citizens are , in polite words "unaware"
and for a country which carries the super power
title it is a disgrace.(its mostly the fault of capitalism
in general and the barbie and ken type anchore person
in us media and news).

it is hypocritical when it comes to human rights.

friends like saudis and kuwatis & pinoche & hosni
mobarak & the types of osama bin laden and noriega.

enemies like ellected salvador alendeh(argentina)
& mossadak(iran, which was toppled by CIA 1952)
and many others.


CHOICES for super power:

China YA RIGHT! (look at tibet)

Russia with Zironofsky at the helm. it will nuke you.

France If you dont speak french it will bomb you.

Germany Too homogenious. plus they failed once miserably.

Arabs Too tribal & paranoid.If dont do as they say they will send chemical ali or osama.


Israel too homogenious & tribal and plus they already
own one.

UK too burnt out & bored.

Japan too homogenious and unattached.

Iraq What would happen? nothing. because they would
have scotch taped every person on the planet.



The best choice in my opinion is the UN .but since it has no army
of any effect, then my 2nd choice is a nation that represent
the world on a smaller size & and that ladies and gentelmen
is the bad old us of a.

USA will be a superpower for a long time to come but as history tells us, every power must fall sooner or later. I hope that it will be as late as possible. I really can't imagine a world without the USA being in it, but then again, I live in it.

I believe that if we don't strive for better relations with the growing superpower'ness of China, we'll have another Cold War at our hands. But if we can cooperate, like Clinton tried to do, we'd both grow and prosper. We'd be an unstopable force along side our ally, the future Democratic China ;). Those Chinese want the revolution....

You are absolutely correct. This is the nature of power or you can say the nature of every action.

When you have your teeth, you don't feel much about it's importance. or the pain of not having them. When you are loved by someone, you feel better and want more but forget the moments when you were not loved. Even after a long time you forgot the basics. Being a super power, being a champion come from team effort. Even after achieving the goals again it's never possible to keep intact for ever.

Now, I feel sorry to see the face of Russian man/woman/kid, once it was a proud & glorious, they used to feel superior.

But this is another mistake, this is wrong in a plain text and nothing goes without reaction. It will take time but definitely will be answered. History of nature tells us, we will never be excused.

Im going to try and reply in a tactful manner:

It seems that some of your "cons" turn an ignorant eye to the unavoidable commonalities of all nations. And then over exaugerates these statements by not showing relativity.

All nations have wars, all nations have slaves, all nations have a death toll in one form or another. It may not be in the more recent events, but it lies there in the nations history. You also have to take into consideration that those we "enslaved" are now free in a system of equality. And if you think about it, dictator-powered goverments have ALL there citizens enslaved in a sense.

Here, you have capitalism an economic system as a down side. Which is very incorrect. Capitalism is one of the best, or BEST economic systems, therefor it cannot be a down side.

Here you have two flaws in this statemennt. The first most obvious is that Capitalism has nothing to do with our "unawareness", as its not related AT ALL.
The second, is that our democracy system allows us the ability of ignorance. The reason, is that we have elected leaders to make decisions for us. These leaders ARE in the know, and ARE fully capable of making decisions. These are the people who make foriegn policy decisions. Even though we are a super power, the citizens dont have to know the politics of foreign affairs becuase we donttt make those decisions. The citizens affect mainly DOMESTIC policy. And in that respect its no foriegn powers business how ingorant we are in that respect, or the decisions we make, becuase they are OUR decisions for US.

These too, are confusing. As we are NOT friends with Osama bin laden, thats just a stupid thought all together. Nor are we "friends" with any country with 'evil' dictatorships. Mearly, we are in TREATIES with them for the prevention of worsining cituations.

One can wonder if there should be just one superpower in the world. In my opinion there should be at least two so that none of both would feel themselves the superpower to rule the world.

Sorry bro, but this UN organization will be changed after the fiasco of this iraq debate - it is quite clear that the UN will no longer be a "SECURITY ORGANIZATION" and turn into a solely humanitarian org.

Being a super power is more about FORCE PROJECTION more than anything else... and that can mean money or guns and being able to react or project force or influence(money) any where in the world at any time... As of today noone can match the funds the US can put up in a situation and today noone, not even our NATO allies have the kinda of military forces we have.

We never had contact with osama bin laden... in fact we avoided the JIHADISTS from the arab countries - and only had contacts with the mujahadeen of local afghan or pakistani decsent - it was quite clear, even back then, that the arab JIHADISTS made no distinction between russians and westerners, even those trying to help there cuase.

We used to be, after 9/11 we woke up to the fact that these JIHADISTs F***TARDS were at war with us and have been for years and finally struck... I think that the rest of the world is quite ignorant to the world and their attitudes would change if they lost 3000+ civilians in one day... It is quite stupid and ignorant to say "WAR IS WRONG", it is necessary especially when someone is already at war with you, it is good when it brings change - eliminating evil regimes and in the future providing a future and positive influence in nations like afghanistan that once had no hope.

Some of these protestors around the globe including the ones in america are so stupid i think they would actually try to argue that we shoulda never fought in WWII and that we are evil for dropping the bomb on japan... these ppl need to be wiped from the face of the earth as they understand nothing and so many braincells are dead in these ppl they are walking zombies who can contribute nothing to society other than be utilized to hold protest signs and march chanting slogans they've been fed and don't even know what they're saying.

This is true, but I don't see how it is a disgrace though because in EVERY country this is the case. The majority of the people in the world are ignorant to worldly issue's because their views are swaded by the government in which they live. This is the case for every single country in the world. Just because you are aware doesn't mean everyone else is. It is not just the US :)

Our country was FOUNDED by a war that happend on our own land. Our CIVIL RIGHTS are FOUNDED on a WAR that happened in our own land, the civil war. Wether those wars are in history, is an unimportant detail. Just as this War with IRAQ will eventually be in "history" it still happened, timing is unimportant. Heres what I'm getting at, every war, every incident the USA has been involved in has been for "the greater good". We do not attack sovereign nations with healty leaderships that DONT commit attrocities. Nay, we attack the LEADERSHIP of threatening (moraly, and ethicaly based) nations. We attack these governments becuase the only way for them to dwindle away is to prevent growth. if you allow growth, you allow a great risk of danger.

Lets talk about our actions, and GERMANY for a minute. We ignored what was happening, and tried to remain neutral in some foriegn affairs. When we did, we have a super power like Germany, with its NAZI leadership KILLING, and MAIMING, and HURTING, thousands of people. If we hadnt stepped in, the world would be a much worser place now. Thats what this action with iraq is about. PREVENTION. We KNOW saddam is a bad person, YOU know sadam is a bad person. He's commited attrocities against his Own people. Given the oppertunity, he would do it to Foriegn people.

I am an American, and I know my country has often done the wrong thing, but in most cases it has corrected itself or is working on it. After the U.S. Civil War, when large corporations grew and acted with government indifference at best, popular movements against unrestrained capitalism also grew. After the Great Depression, government checks were put in place in an attempt to keep business accountable before the law just as individual citizens are. Now and again, abuses do come up, but they are usually dealt with. Unfortunately, the Republicans in power have been turning a blind eye to managed health care organizations' abuse of their customers for profit recently.

During the us-versus-them hysteria of the Cold War, U.S. governments sometimes armed questionable people (precursors to Al-Qaeda, Saddam Hussein, etc.) following the illogic that an enemy of our enemy is our friend. Now America is paying the consequences. I hope President Bush does not make the same mistake during the terrorist scare happening now. As during the Cold War, Republicans have been able to put Democrats in a tough position, claiming anyone against the war with Iraq is a terrorist supporter (just like being "soft on communism").

Unfortunately, the United States, which attempts human and civil rights, equal opportunity, etc., at home continues to back many shady governments as allies. My freedom seems to come at the price of a poor Saudi's freedom.

On the plus side, the United States ended inequality under the law for ethnic and racial minorities, women, and non-Protestants. Some bigotry remains practiced by individuals, unfortunately. Western Europe seems to take a much harsher attitude towards immigrants, especially from Islamic countries.

It is wrong that the U.S. government puts regulations on corporations at home but allows them to get away with so much exploitation in the third world. This is something that will need to be addressed very soon, but I do not think President Bush and his fellow Republicans will be able to take the responsibility.
