zahid, I don't see what you're trying to show as truth then. America is an evil force that covers that evil with propaganda? interesting.

I have seen the statements against this nation repeatedly.

    the war is for oil.

gimme a break. Name one single war where the US has conquered and taken the oil. Yet this has been the complaint on every conflict. The US does not conquer and pillage the lands, taking its wealth. "No blood for oil" is a crock 'o S**T.

just believing what we're told? Pot calling the kettle black with oil?

    http://english.aljazeera.net/topics/...&parent_id=258

with the absurdity of the oil argument having been established, how can a "news agency" thow a story like this out there with a straight face?

    >>Name one single war where the US has conquered and taken the oil.

Looked at the covert actions in Nigeria, Angloa, DRC? Not invasions but covert operations.

Why is it that the art treasures of Iraq have been looted.
The TV stations, power and water destroyed....

But the Ministry of Oil is still OK and under US protection.

Look up the company Arbusto. It has links to Osama Bin Laden through his brother and one of his wives.

Look who was CEO of Halliburton Oil.

Halliburton and Brown & Root have played a role in some of the world's most volatile trouble spots. These include Algeria, Angola, Bosnia, Burma, Croatia, Haiti, Kuwait, Nigeria, Russia, Rwanda, and Somalia.

    OLD STORY:
" In a statement to PBS tv , the US Secretary Of State Colin Powell said that in case Arafat does not permit Abu Mazin to form the government he wants, then a very important chance will once again dye because of Arafat.

Meantime, the Israeli occupation forces yesterday demolished 6 Palestinian houses during their incursion in Gaza."

quite obviously, oil is the only wealth Iraq has. if you mean to rebuild the nation, you must maintain it's source of wealth.

zahid, why is there a need to talk of israel when the thread is about US vs. Iraq? truth be known, as an american I've only heard of israel in the context of arabs and jews not getting along. This has nothing to do with the Iraq war. In all seriousness is it absolutely necessary for any arab who's getting attacked to immediately accuse the attacker of being in league with israel?

bah! middle east politics is like big inbred children on a playground.

To the devout Muslim that's what it looks like, they see it as an attack on Islam, they are wrong of course, though their case against the US helping Israel is very strong.

Let's continue this thread in about 5 or 10 years. Then, and only then, will you be able to say without a doubt what this war was about. If we walk out of the country in 2 years leaving the people in destruction, leaderless, and oil less then it was only for the oil.

If we stand by there side and help rebuild the country, help them along their way to a democratic society, and maybe secure a little oil for ourselves then it was to help the people.

Why US attacked and destroyed Iraq?
Answer is still not given. Given answers are not enough to legalize the destruction. Even answers in different time do not match each other. No proof at all. Now you can say if even the WMD is found in Iraq will proof that Iraq has the temperament to have it for it's security as Israel and US is a threat to Iraq as well as other country in the world. Which is already proven now and small countries are already ...... I will give you more interesting news(as a result of this attack) in future.

BORING... you're arguments are as hollow as your head, if you believe your own BS --

IRAQ is finished - the cleanup and reconstruction are underway and there isn't much ppl can say about it than stuff is being done.

Let's start a N. Korea topic as all of our carriers are now headed to that region as we speak -- the talks just collapsed and tensions are rising -- something's gonna happen there - I can't wait

OSR I don't share your fervor for war (I think you speak in jest anyway).

My only beef is with the hate zahid obviously has for america. He showed the two above links as some sort of education when both were emotion-laden, fact-free rants. I still see zero proof of the main point which attempts to contradict what I've been saying....

When has the US EVER stolen a countrys oil?

The world should cool off. there are too many ANGRY & paranoid ppl on the planet . and as always they are the ones who inflict

    pain & sorrow on others.

    What is worse ?.
    being ANGRY and ,,,STUPID .

Add hunger (for power, fame, money, food,,,,,,).

    And You have It:

    ANGRY , HUNGRY And STUPID.

    Sounds real scary.
    My solution;

    Educate the stupid.
    Feed the hungry.
Kick The $hit out of the angry.

I can see only a single line scrolling right to left over your face and that is "Might Is Right".

You better undress yourself and say that we do what we want, we get what we wish. Don't ever talk about human rights, democracy, international law, all are BS.

Ohh.. be sure, if the number of people like you (Bench Mark as : Supporting US war in IRAQ) increase among US citizens, you will find victims with spectators around the world against US gov and against US citizens, because they are paying to kill people and occupy other countries. No doubt.

I'm always eager to see the future, to match with my self prediction and adjust beliefs.

Note: English is your language, you can play with your words so easily. So, I just always want to explain the core part of my opinion in plain text without any jewellery. ohh Shortage of time is another factor. I have already given a lot which is expensive for me.

Not yet. Depends of the people of USA. If you ask me about US gov, definitely Yes. I'm not afraid to express.

You know? I have a wish that once I will visit the Library of Congress. Anyway, I'm among one of them who used to say few great things about americans. My frustration is that I thought of the US people for human rights, democracy, and of course discipline. What ever the way, technology is another most import to me. Not only me, even your enemy will honor you for morality, may be not in front of you. But I'm getting hints of a fake morality.

I don't understand you, what do you mean? If you don't get it, may be you don't want to. If I'm providing you less information, try to learn (if you have time, interest), better talk with someone does not agree with you. May be you don't have news on similer type of issue with Bangladesh. Your Oil/Gas exploration companies are involving your gov and may be you have no idea what your gov can do for such a small resource. We think we don't have enough reserve for next 50 years to export Gas. ... counter part don't agree with that concept.. .. result.... IMF loan is pending for more than two years, lots of pressure in various ways, etc, etc. .. ... ohh.. please don't let me open my mouth. Don't think, a single incident can convince total population. There are lots of incidents around the world.. you just have to open your eyes.

see, this is what I'm saying. people who criticise the US of stealing oil always give opinionated editorials as evidence. I have not seen one shred of evidence to just how they are doing it. We purchase, yes. but can that be a crime? a reason to hate? You have yet to give one shred of evidence. You have yet to do anything but say "open your eyes" and "be educated". I challenge you. educate me. show me where the US has EVER stolen oil.

vooooooooo...... you are such an innocent guy. I thought you should be ashamed of what your gov doing. Even I did not want to disclose in this long discussion because of that you will feel bad. I expected you will learn yourself. But I'm surprised, you felt nothing. My God, what a terrible situation. I don't have perfect english word for it, in Bangla we say it "nirlajjo" in Bangla, we also use "besharam" Persian word. I can try, this is some one who never feel shame of anything.

So, I have to explain it to you how, when, why? Didn't you ever play in your boyhood.
I don't want to sell, you want to buy. And you force me to sell... not only that, you make my life difficult because of that. If necessary first you blame for terrorism, human right violation, lack of democracy bla.. bla.. then attack my country and free my country..
I don't want to sell to you. I want to sell $x/U, you force me to sell in $(x-y)/U. Rate does not match, bla.. bla.. lots of reason. Do you think a gov will steal the way few journalists and soldiers did in Iraq. But recently you have see piracy by state and more to come. Mark I haven't yet discussed about the other causes of this war. I'm surprised to see your attitude perfectly go with your current gov.

Only advice, be educated and learn to be moral and be education again. Try to practice democracy. Not fake BS. May be you have to fill & shake your brain little more

You know? I feel sorry. Real sorry. You even did not learn to think like a neutral. I have heard that there is a limit of free speech (within the level of tolerance) over there. But we dream of the that freedom.
