    God bless america
I just want to know if thats a common expression... and if ur not religiuos can u use it as well. because in lots of movies and on tv ppl say that. But does that mean that whoever says it is religious?

Please don't start a flame war over this, I just want to give My honest opinion to gangly. Honestly gangly I am an athiest (I do not believe in religion, nor any deity whatsoever). From a personal standpoint I do not and never will use the phrase god bless america. As from my standpoint I do not believe god nor any other higher power exists, therefor I would be giving this country basically an empty blessing. I don't belive I speak for all non religious people when I say that, that is just my personal opinion.

I'm not religious, and as stated before lets not go into it, but its a common expression, but is still meant.

We have the phrase 'God save the Queen' but nowadays it usually only gets used at things like international football matches and stuff like that. I guess the military may use it but it's not really common now other than being the predominant line in our national anthem.

Stupid idiot Bush. I missed "The Practice" and "Miracles" because
ABC chose to air some stupid war special. People on the east
coast missed them because of the President's speech. This is
so lame; I swear, if Bush's actions interrupt anymore regularly
scheduled programming, I'll declare war on the US myself.

you are the most self-centered un-american person I know.

**** man... at least have an opinion on the war instead of sitting there b1tching about missing your stupid tv shows.

    I'd rather not...

Besides, an insult coming from you really has no effect on me. You're
not important enough for me to care about what you think. You're
not as smart as you'd like to believe, ober.

I can picture how you must be in the real-world. Some weak,
mock-patriot who pretends to be knowledgable about current
events and expresses "personal" opinions (which coincidentally
mimic that of cable-tv editorialists) for the single purpose of
    hiding your inherent idiocy. You need to accept yourself as a ditz;
embrace your shallowness. Only then will you reach self-contentment,
    ober. Only then...

And you don't "know" me. I could be nothing more than a mental
patient using a hospital's computer to post anonymous messages
to internet forums for the sole purpose of amusing myself. Every
post I've ever made could be nothing more than a simple lie. Who
knows, maybe my posts are just the result of some pathetic
attempt at creating an alternate persona because I'm bored with
the personality I show to the rest of the world. It's possible...
Don't pretend you have a deep understanding of my psyche.

    Bleh, "un-american" and "self-centered." I'm so evil.

First of all, I never said I was smart. I don't claim to be better than anyone around here... well, except the obvious like face_master or TravisDane...

Secondly, I'm not the most knowledgable person on current issues. I'll be the first to admit that. I don't watch much news, I only read the paper for the Sports section, and I generally don't care about local events. And I don't have cable.

Thirdly, I never said I "knew you" or your "psyche". You get so ........ed off when I make some random comment about your ravings. If you're so much smarter than I, why not ignore me? You don't care about what I think, but yet I bet you spent at least 5 minutes responding to two pointless b1tching comments I made before I had any caffiene this morning.

Grow up. Give a $hit about something other than tv.
