It means search the * board.

To answer your question, all programming is fun
When all else fails, read the instructions.
If you're posting code, use code tags:
/* insert code here */
Thumbs up Text RPG's are GOOD

I personally like text rpg's. They're great for easy programming, and good for learning new stuff about the language when your starting out. I say go for it.

All of the online MUDS right now use SMAUG codebase and all of them have almost identical interface. Makes it boring cuz every mud is almost the same besides maybe a few monsters and special features. This year i made a text rpg it was really boring though but at least i got more familiar with classes+pointers.

Check out the first RPG, Adventure. Started playing it in the early 70's on a PDP10. Spent many, many hours on it.

Play it online at http://plugh.xyzzy.net
or download various versions from
http://www.rickadams.org/adventure/e_downloads.html

The latest version found at
http://www.mipmip.dsl.pipex.com/adv770/
It's so new I've haven't even downloaded it yet
