God hath appeared upon the earth, and he hath given to thine people one gift, and that one gift willed itself Lightatdawn. When the gift didst set itself afoot on the land, the inhabitants bowed down to he who cameth, and feasted upon pheasant and duck, and all was right in the world.

    Series itdoesn'tmatterbecausei'msupperiortoyou:

did i ever say that you disgusting me would have any effect on you whatsoever, i mean, why would someone so superior, like yourself, even want to think about an inferior weakling such as myself. (if you didn't see the sarcasm there, give up.)

He who declares himself winner is the true looser, for why would one declare themselves a victory if they did win? They would let the results show for it and shut the hell up. You have lost, Series itdoesn'tmatterbecausei'msupperiortoyou, admit it.

    Ignorant...

No. And I'm not talking about which person has the right to prescribe antidepressants here, the discussion was about how to cure a depression: And that is usually done with 'happy pills' and possibly with a counsellor.

You make no sense. You contradict yourself. If depression is "cured" with happy pills and the one that gives you the happy pills is the psychiatrist not the counselor, then the one that cures you is the psychiatrist; the counselor does nothing.

No matter how much counseling a clinically depressed person receives he/she is not going to recover, for all the talking in the world is not going to make his/her brain get the chemicals that it is missing.

Therefore, if you are clinically depressed you go to a psychiatrist. There is no need for a counselor.

The psychiatrist MAY advice you to seek the help of a counselor AFTER you are somewhat stabilized and capable of recognizing your own situation and therefore willing to make the effort to get better; when you're brain is already getting the chemicals it, for some reason, was missing.

    Before that counseling is useless.

    adios,

    1. You're a female (I guess).

    2. You said "thanks" to me (that doesn't happen often)!!

    3. You have too much spare time.

Just because a psychiatrist will let you buy happy pills doesn't mean that this psychiatrist is going to cure you. It means that the happy pills is going to cure you.

The psychiatrist is just the last step in the big cycle that lets you acquire your happy pills.

Normally, it's happy pills and/or a counselor that will cure you, that's what takes time. Not the psychiatrist.

    The last step indeed...

And the only irreplaceable one too.

This big cycle of yours could have a miriad of steps, but the last one must always (assuming you acquire the pills legally) be the psychiatrist. He/She chooses IF and WHEN and WHAT pills you should have. He/She is responsible for the dosage you will take, and how often you will take it, and when you should stop or increase the dosage. All in all, the psychiatrist is responsible for the recovery.

I really don't see how the counselor has any part in it. At least in clinical depression. A counselor just talks, talking has none to little effect on the amount of certain chemicals your brain chooses to manufacture.

    ...

Have you even been to a psychiatrist? Do you suffer or do you know anyone who suffers from clinical depression?

    SIGH

Which won't make him/her more important than anybody else, the position doesn't matter. It's the happy pills that helps (and a counselor can also help a lot for some people (yes, talking to somene can help the chemical imbalance to stabilize as well)).

He/She chooses IF and WHEN and WHAT pills you should have
And the bus driver chooses if he will drive you to the psychiatrist (nonsense)... You need to learn to draw a realistic line. Happy pills will make the chemical imbalance go away. The psychiatrist can flush himself down in the toilet. Also, you can legally buy some happy pills (or similiar products) how and where you want without involving a psychiatrist.

A counselor just talks, talking has none to little effect on the amount of certain chemicals your brain chooses to manufacture.
    Wrong.

Have you even been to a psychiatrist?
No. I can't afford it anyway. I don't want happy pills! When you're really depressed it's impossible to imagine happiness. If I get happy I will also get 'blind', I will lose something.

Do you suffer or do you know anyone who suffers from clinical depression?
    Maybe I do, I don't know.

Do you have to pay for primary health care in Sweden? Is it that different from Denmark?

Yeah you are right.... it isn't doctors that cure you. It is only drugs. When you have an infection and the doctor correctly identifies the infection and gives you the appropriate anti-biotics, it is the medication that cures you and not the doctor.

Isn't that just a bunch of crap.

    This is real logic...

You are ill. You go to the Doctor. You tell Doctor you are ill. Doctor tries to cure you. Doctor knows a certain medicine will cure you. Doctor prescribes the amount of medicine and type of medicine for you to take. You take the medicine as prescribed. This action inevitably cures you.

In this case three things cure you... the doctor, you, and the medicine.

Examples of where the use of the word 'cured' will work.
The doctor cured me with medicine.
    The medicine cured me.
I cured myself by taking medicine.

In some cases, the doctor will have more effect curing you than either of the other two. In other cases, the medicine will have more effect than the other two. In even other cases, you will have a greater impact on curing yourself.

    Synopsys...

Curing a person of any illness, disease, etc. is a multi-faceted process. When a doctor and medication are involved in curing a patient, one can only differentiate the degrees to which each has the ability to cure the patient. Inevitably, the doctor, the patient, and the medicine will combine to cure the disease or illness. (or you will die... but this is about curing.)

Yes, adrianxw (of course it will cost).

    No, Betazep.

The truth is: I'm not talking logic here (neither are you), I'm talking common sense. It's impossible to talk 100% logic because we have different definitions, we're all too small minded. Everything you've said is based on your error-prone moral.

The medicine will cure you, and 'one step back' the doctor will help to cure you, a 'second step back' the company that created the medicine will help to cure you, and 'one bilion steps back' there are 'so many' different parts that together will help to cure you (basicly, of course). The (in this case) "psychiatrist" will not take the pills, you will. The psychiatrist will just 'make them available'.

I am 'most' logical here, because I draw the line on the most 'extreme place', you're just drawing the line wherever you think sounds right. You're not used to think logical, instead you're thinking like humans generally do.

    Insect...

C'mon Man!... Depressed or not, you can't revert to your robotic superioty speech whenever you lose an argument... it's getting ridiculous. The second you feel you're losing or have lost an argument you give up trying to prove your theory and attack the individual (or humans in general) involved...

Personally, I think you're right in this case... the 'happy pills' are paramount... who gives them to you and how they get inside you seem far less important. If someone else stole them and constantly slipped them in your drinks or something, would they be any less effective? Of course taking the advice of someone who knew what they were doing would be a great idea.

common sense and logic are the same, logic and common sense are similar.

One needs logic in order to have common sense, but doesn't need common sense in order to have logic.

Logic is a sensical thought pattern that accurately (maybe 80%) evaluates the equations of everyday life.

Common Sense is a sense that guides you through your life and helps to make inferences use the logic skills that you have.

i hope i made sense, because i'm not as 'superior' as some people. (arg, get a life)

That is the case for 1/2 of the programming population (me being one of them).
