What is it with , complex words!

Eversince my years in school , i have been curious as to
why the scientific language (vocabulary) of most nations
is foreign to that nation(literaly) or in ways so weired its
    laughable.

    polymorphism = multiple forms.

one in a thousand example .and i dont think its got to do with historical habits , but rather an urge for the so called elite
to hide from the public their secret knowledge and sound
more complex than it realy is. so its like an infectious disease

that runs from teacher to student whom when graduates
will take it on the next poor soul who becomes his or her
student (just as to get even with his own time of suffering).

    are there other reasons ?
or is it just class specification, to come up with encrypted words for simple subjects?

    what do u think.

I think that it is because most modern European languages are based on Latin and Greek, and when new words need to be created, people just look back to Latin or Greek to make those words. Take, for example, polymorphism. Poly comes from Greek polus, meaning many, and morph comes from Greek morphe, meaning form or shape.

That is how a lot of words are made. If I don't know the meaning of words, I just split Prefixes and Suffixes, and usually I get a close meaning to what the word is.

    Now what was that?

English is a very ambiguous language. Using more 'complex' words sometimes resolves these ambiguities and allows us to be more precise in our messages.

Your impropper use of punctuation and grammar have confounded me to the point that I cannot reply to your question. Or rather, what I assume to be a question.

Most of the European languages are not based on Latin or Greek.
    http://softrat.home.mindspring.com/germanic.html

But the languages Latin and Greek were in Europe the languages of science. In the past it were the languages used by the European elite, mainly scientists and nobles.

BTW, polymorphism is not a new word, it is a very old word. The reason why it is used in sciences is because this single word can be used to point to a wide range of things (generalisation). People invent words to point out something, for a class of similar things a new word is invented so that we can talk about it without first having to describe it.

The same thing is currently seen in the field of software design patterns. Designers encapsulate complete patterns in just a single or perhaps two words. This makes communication easier.

just imagine if the word antialiasing wasn't invented. NVidia would have to say "4xS Thingy that removes jagged lines from your screen by drawing darkened colors around the line to trick your eye into thinking it is a perfect line"

That's the smartest thing I've heard during the 24-hour period during which the earth completes one rotation on its axis, during which I've been exploring the worldwide interconnected network that connects programmible electonic machines via a TCP\IP protocol.

Yeesh, if you're going to pick apart someone's spelling and grammar at least make sure you get everything right.

No, I think it just may be a symptom of typing too fast and speling fonetikly.

I've seen this improper spelling several times lately - Where does this come from? Did any popular book author get it wrong or something?
Just another one of those commonly mis-spelled words I guess. Like prove (proove), lose (loose), virii (viruses) etc.

Might want to take your own advice, Protocal-boy.
