all you smart people > help finding a song.

ok, i heard a song on the radio. ive heard it before and i liked it, then i heard it again and it got stuck in my head.

i decided as soon as i am at my computer next, i will search until i figure out what the song is and get it.

then, the next day (this morning) i got to my computer and realized that the song was no longer stuck in my head. in fact, i cant even remember how it went, except one little part that doesnt have any words.

normally i pride myself on being up to date on all the newest music (at least the kinds that i like) and being able to figure out which band is which and what songs they have. this song was stuck in my head this morning when i was in the shower, but on the way to work it got lost.

my question is this: where can i go to find out new songs or top ## lists of new songs? its not on billboard, those are only 'pop' songs, nothing even remotely obscure there. this song is really new and ive only heard it twice in about a week or so (and im in my truck a lot, listening to the radio). i dont know any lyrics, but if i had just a bit of the melody i think i could remember some. a local radio station had it in its #3 spot for most requested song of the week, so im sure its at least a little popular and known.

    any ideas?
I came up with a cool phrase to put down here, but i forgot it...

    kind of rock / alternative.

the band doesnt really sound familiar, usually i can pick up by the singer who the band is. im almost positive its a new band, but without some names and lyrics, im at a total loss.

The easiest thing to do would be to call the radio station and ask what their play list was for the time you are interested in. I've done that before and it has never failed.
