checking out the latest, in which I truly admire our programmers. Thanks to the board I am actually understanding c++;
This is my first program language, my professior is cool. But he teaches through words and reading. No projector, no board, etc;
Im still using basic functions <stdio.h> & <math.h>. I get frustrated and punch the walls at times. But it's cool. Thanks to the c Board;
Reading a good book as well as going along with your school studies may help
yes, books are your friend.
my teacher doesn't really use the board much, a bit here and there, but not as a usual class would.
I'm currently taking my first c++ class as well, but my professor on the other hand is great! he uses a pc display (and what display it is, thanks to UIC) at all times. We also you a very good book, in my opinion. It is by Walter Savitch, entitled Absolute C++.
The language is very simple, and the text is well written. The material really floats from subject to subject. There are, however, points that don't get a lot of elaboration...the switch statement gets only half a page!
lol, mine is 'here's a book, read it, do the exercises, take the quiz, have fun'.
Not to be a "wet blanket" here, folks, but this discussion might better be conducted on the General Discussion Board. ;)

not always a bad thing. i had a prof that used to turn out the lights and use power point slides.... fell asleep EVERY class, just couldent help it. lol
My teacher teaches very well imo. She teaches you, asks you to do an exercise, and is there to help you if you need it. She uses the board a bit here and there, uses the comp to display stuff a few times. But mostly, she walks us through new topics, and makes sure we understand them. Then we apply them to the case study.
I agree with Perspective. It just depends on the teacher.
my teacher is my books...and a nice cup of java...i dont even take computer science at school..(currently a highschool student)..but yet i am taking the computer science ap AB test :) wish me luck..this is the last year it be in c++...haha....
the best teacher in your life is yourself...sure the teacher can tell you stuff...give you an example problem...but its up to you to practice...read over the material..and try...try...try..because you aint going to be good unless you try...
except girls......try...try...try...ahh darn them..i quit
