book holders

i know that just about everyone on here has a programming book they are looking at, or several books. what i want to know, does anyone use book holders?trying to hold a 800 page book and typein a compiler at the same time is a little hard.i really dont have enough space on my desktop to put it there, i mean i can, but its still at an angel that its hard to see.i was looking at some book holders that mount to the wall and have arms so you can adjust and swivel it any way you like, but the cheapest iv found is $180.does anyone know of any cheaper ones? if not i guess ill end up making my own. it would be nice and i could learn more if all i had to do to look at the book is turn my head sideways a little, would make it a lot easier.

ehh... that's all i could really find... sorry. but that was just a couple google searches... I'm sure you could find something for less than $180.

I'm not really a bookholder type. I just lay the book on my lap, and when it gets too heavy I lay it next to my keyboard. I don't find any problem with this... I just don't see the need for bookholders.

u can get one at radioshack, a book store, walmart, etc for about 5 bucks.

I know what you mean. It's easier to read when the book isn't flat on the desk. I usually just angle the books under my monitor, my desk has space there, and it usually is just enough. It's helpful especially when I need to take notes for a class.

I'm sure finding something for less than $180 is possible. Just scour the local walmart or something like that like RoD said.

I've never read a programming book. But I'm going to use my birthday money to get a DirectX book. Hopefully one with a recent DX SDK with it on CD.

LMAO, this doesnt really help towards a solution, but that was hilarious.

Most books come with the code for the book available for download on their site, and its usually mentioned in the book, have you tried that at all?

im making one now. and yes i know about .pdf books ( got 20 of them on my computer). thats wasnt the point.i dont like to have to shuffle windows.and i find it much easier to look at a book.
