    Unreal 2

I just got my copy yesterday and let me say that im quite disapointed. The pics on the web look so much better than the game does in action but it does look good. I think im just about done with the game ive been playing for like 14hrs :-p and im getting quite bored with it. I think i might make a mod for it though. Has anyone else gotten theirs and been as disapointed as me?

I've played through my copy twice over the weekend. I am disappointed as well. The first Unreal game blew me away when I played that. Maybe our expectations got the better of us? The graphics are good and I liked some of the level design but it just felt like there was something missing. After playing the game do you know what I did like... the startup movie logos and the way they did the credits.

    and moods.

I played the demo, and I liked it, and the graphics are good, in fact I like all the Unreal(...) games, although Unreal Tournament is my favourite.

Doom3 will own because Carmack is renowned for creating unique, advanced, and technologically thrilling 3D engine technology that can be used for years as a foundation for other 3D games.

Real-time shadow map rendering is what's got my chair on edge. Not to mention ID's kick-ass multimedia crew pumping out sweet art, models, and sound

And best of all, Doom3's game DLL is completely written in C++ (like Half-Life), so hopefully it'll get the same, enormous modding community that Half-Life has... yay
