Some stats about members of this site...

Avg member 19.85 posts
The Standard Deveation of these avg posts in 79.66 (wow)
The Median post is 2
There are 921 members.
The most (Govtcheez) has 1097 posts
210 diffrent people have 0.
188 have 1.
And 749 have 10 or fewer.

For all you statistics students:
Q1 is 1.
Q3 is 7.
That means that the middle 50% of all members have 1-7 posts. (so i guess after 2 the number of posts a person is likely to have goes way up).

Anyway...just some random things i thought you might like to know....and then probably comment on till it is dragged off to un obscure topic...ready...set...tagentize this topic! (i love making up verbs)

NOTE: ALL DATA IS AS OF 15:30gmt on 10/16/01

2. Actually, according to the empirical rule, won't approx 67% or so be between quartiles?

> The most (Govtcheez) has 1097 posts

Strange - a month ago I had over 1100...

3. "The Standard of these avg posts in 79.66 (wow) "

Is that the standard deviation? Never heard just "standard" before .

4. yes standard deveation...whoops hehe ...

"Actually, according to the empirical rule, won't approx 67% or so be between quartiles?"

But if I'm not mistaken (and I very well could be), doesn't this apply to only to the normal curve?

I think we're both slightly wrong...I'll look it up

5. > doesn't this apply to only to the normal curve?

Oops - my mistake... I think our curve would be a little more bottom heavy than that requires... (gimme a break - I'm only in my 2nd week of Prob&stat)

6. ok Q3-Q1= IQR which is the interval of the inner 50%...there so the IQR is 6. (and yes i know i can't spell/type)

8. great job getting some hard data kermi... [do mods have access to a statistic database?]... this further proves my complaints... right on!

9. No there's no easy access data base...I just got bored and typed it all into my TI-83 calculator...lol

I just tried to edit a message of mine. When I clcked edit, the screen clears more or less instantly, after a second or two the logo and the "User CP" to "Home" buttons appear, then nothing. The progress bar is almost the whole way accross, and I sat with an otherwise blank screen. I finally gave up after 3 minutes. There is another thread complaining about this very same thing. It is not limited to me.
