Moan moan moan about the Civics. I have a Civic.

Superb reliability, what would any1 want the accord for unless they have the cash for a sporty model. God damn grandads car otherwise.

Now, a civic 'R' type hit the UK ummmm about 18 months ago- OH WOW. Going to have to save up a bit first though. New cost-16k. What a car though!

    http://www.honda.co.uk/new.html

    Then click Civic type 'r'.

Check that-a Civic 0-60 in 6.4 secs, 146 MPH? WOWSER

sorry, this was a typo. correcting it...
    you'll most likely be looking at 3rd gen (90 - 93) or 4th gen (94 - 97)
    4th gen (90 - 93)

    5th gen (94 - 97)

i think mine was referred to as FC...i know 3rd gen is FD.

I own a lovely cheery-red '87 TII Turbo, 13-B twin rotor. 2mm apex seals (after market), street port, RAM air setup, around 14psi, intercooler, greddy twin turbos, custom straight-pipe exhaust, 10LB NOS setup, mazdaspeed bodykit, '93 style tail lights, APC wing, etc. Theres alot of money i owe my dad wrapped up in her. She opens up at just shy of a clean 10 second 1/4 run at around 115MPH. She owns most stuff round here (cept that other RX7, its an FD but it runs on alcohol so i don't feel so bad!).

I've got a 95 Olds Cutlass (and yeah, Oldsmobile's being cut - AFAIK, you shouldn't be seeing any 2004 models of any of their cars) with ~160K on it - Hopefully it'll last me another year until I'm out of school - I'm thinking my next car'll be a Jeep Wrangler...

My dream car is a Porsche - hopefully I'll have one eventually, but I'm not holding my breath.

adrian - maybe if there were many cars made in Denmark, they'd be cheaper? (said the totally ignorant man)

    2002 Firebird V6 or V8 model

...and nitros, nos, turbo charge...you're asking for trouble
Same for front-wheel and autos...front-wheel will fall apart on ya trying to test that 0-60 rating..cheap shafts - rear-wheel shafts have balls..front wheel, it's suprising they even work

V4 won't take you too far over 100mph.

If you want lamborghini speed, simply buy one.

Which are also having their production cut (Camaro, too - they're the same chassis with slightly different bodies) in the next couple years.

    I'm well aware.

Right now, we're being flooded with front-wheel bull crap and fuel economy. WOOHOO GAS MILEAGE! zero performance

    Wow, V12, 6 dual carbs, 0-215mph in 25 seconds.

I don't even want a ghini, something reasonable...but, if you're into it THAT much..then damn man. ...slightest gust of wind and you're a ping pong ball.

That's ok. Don't know of many places in the world where it's legal to go over about 70mph

He he. It's funny the difference in attitude. Come to England, pay 80p per litre (about $1.20) of petrol and then see if you have the same feelings about fuel economy.

I drive a 1.1 litre Ford Fiesta. It's cheap, reliable and dead easy to maintain. Oh and living in London, it gets me about just a quickly as if I owned a Ferrari. Apparently the average speed in London is about 8mph.

Of course it's not legal. Legal isn't defined as impossible, just not within the law. For instance, I ran a stop sign at 75mph once...but, nothing came of it.

Montana's interstate used to be reasonable and prudent. I have a photograph of that sign. But now, because of fuel economy and the government funding for roads, they bumped it down to 75mph. So, you can get away with 85mph or so. I was husting along at 90mph and peaked at 93 several times with both my parents in the car. Cop only flashed his lights at me - "slow it down"

    __________

there were some i4s that are pretty quick. i.e. the venom civic. but there is also a 4000 hp integra, tuned by Bob Norwood.

the RX-7s are very nice cars.

build a fwd car correctly, you would actually lose some of its gas economy, but it will be quick.

also, the term v4 is incorrect for most if not all 4 cyls. the cylinders don't have that v shape, they are usually inline, or horizontal.

I would go with a Volkswagen, cant go wrong with German Engineering. Those are wicked cars and built to last. I think you may be able to find one in your price range.

I hat hondas so I wouldnt even look at them.....

Regarding a car that I may purchase when I get a nice paying job, either a VW, a Volvo or Jag... Well see I guess.
