A friend of mine got one on his bicep and it was a solid scab for about a week.

Ugh, under the arm... the skin is sensitive++.

If I were to get one, i'd definitly get a little intoxicated or take some pain killers before going in.

Ok i ahve to post em here but they aren't so bad, sorry for the 600kb size of the sketch but what can ya do. Between the two pics of it and the sketch you should get a pretty good idea, i was only able to scan half the sketch in but the other half is reverse of the first as it wraps my arm.

Hmmm, i wonder how many programmers have tattoo's,
i'l bet almost none, at least when wheyre talking about good
programmers.

Wow, after seeing a close up, the tatoo looks really nice.
I havent read the entire post, and maybe this was asked already, but I will ask it again.

Why do people get tatoos?

I can understand it is an art form, but I dont think I would use my body as a canvas as others choose to do.

Status - which nowadays is a lame reason

One of the old teachers where I'm taking c++ training courses got programming tatoos. Like he had the word java tatooed onto his arm with a steaming cup of coffee above it, and the word python with a python snake over it. No joke either, I think he had another one as well.

He was a pretty weird guy, he went through two wives over a two year period while he was teaching there.

If I got a tatoo, it'd be on my back.

Not too bad, I mean it's quite a bit, but it's not like you get that done everyday either. I would never get a tattoo, but I like piercings. I pierced my nipples with one of my mom's hypodermic needles (she stock piles those suckers because she needs to give herself shots daily for allergies tests and stuff).
anyway that sucked and now my left nipple is 3x greater than my right one
