What was wrong with them? they like made a design, technology moved ahead, and they cept thier design, never changing, and died.

Cyrix (pronounced SYE-rihks) was a line of low-cost microprocessors intended for personal computers and information appliances that competed, along with AMD and Intel, for the low-cost microprocessor market. Acquired by VIA Technologies, a Taiwan supplier of chipsets and processors, the Cyrix technology continues to be offered in the VIA Cyrix MII processor. VIA also offers is own VIA C3 processor.

These thingies were funny though :) They got so damn hot you could easily heat your house with your computer ;)
thanks adrian... and yeah i think there was an issue of them being hot when we [being my dad and i] had them in our systems... we never used any MIIs tho... i remember vaguely having a PR-75 chip at one time or the other... yes, and a cyrix at 133 mHz some time as well... since then it's been AMD / Intel... of which i can't say matters since i don't need a 1.4 Ghz... or even half of that... [tho it would be nice...]
does anyone have a site i could look into further? an official VIA site? thanks...
