    >>>GOD WHY ARE FEMALE PROGRAMMERS SO RARE???????
I'm gonna have to agree with doubleanti. It's because of all these pressures, I remembered my first programming class in C (a long time ago) ... these guys around me treat me like i'm one of the guys and are asking me why I don't want to get married or have kids. Asking why I want to suffer the consequences of being a programmer, meaning, no guys will like a girl who's smarter than him, in short i'll never have a bf. And why I keep acting like a boy (even though I wear skirts all the time!?!)

    >>>>Becauseeeeeee, girl's want to talk alot, move alot, laugh alot, and programming is everything but that
I beg to differ, yes we do that, but that doesn't mean that we can't program at the same time. Well, i guess it's all about time management. For me, there are times when I do the girly stuff and there are times when i solely dedicate my time to programming, there's more to life than computers. And I honestly feel sorry for those who makes computers and programming in general their lives....

But I'm gonna have to say that I'm still different with my male collegues, most of the time, i'm outspoken, I don't think i have any confidence. Meaning, even though I know the answer, I just choose to be quiet and see what's going on. Other than if they're code is really really wrong then I'm gonna have to step in. But most of the time, I feel like male programmers are still better than me, even though i'm doing really good on my classes(better than my guy friends) so yeah....oh well. just my humble opinion...

geeky or dorky (just to use the teenage term).
But you can have it all huh? It's great programmer || great social,
this of course isn't always so, some lucky bastards have it both

I'm surprised that so many females are saying that they are viewed as unattractive by male programmers. I'd really like to have a girlfriend that was a programmer (don't tell my current g/f I said that). I kinda hate that I can't share programming and all other computer related subjects with my g/f. Although programming isn't my entire life, it is a real passion of mine, and it sucks that it's one I can't share with my beloved. I hope that when I get to college I'll meet some cool female programmer.

"The computer programmer is a creator of universes for which he alone is responsible. Universes of virtually unlimited complexity can be created in the form of computer programs." -- Joseph Weizenbaum.

"If you cannot grok the overall structure of a program while taking a shower, you are not ready to code it." -- Richard Pattis.

    Computer geeks look dorky/geeky??

My whole group consists of Computer Geeks and none of them look like it. I'm the biggest computer geek alive (I spend at least 12 hours at my computer a day now that I'm off school and I DREAMT about the GeForce 4 Ti 4600 until I got it), but I also lift weights regularly (I weigh 165 and bench 245 [sorry, don't mean to brag, just proving a point]). The thing is, you can't tell how much or what type of knowledge someone has by looking at them.

I would LOVE to have a GF like Dolby
