I finish Metroid Prime (which is rad, so I don't know what you're
    talking about) and Eternal Darkness..

Hmm... I dont hate it, but as far as fun factor goes, it's not too great. I do think the graphics and all the kewl crap and weapons you get are awesome. And after the first level, some of Samus' armor breaks and falls off. Ooo-la-laa!

    Bingo.

Remember classic Metroid, or how about Super Metroid? Super Metroid = best side scrolling game for SNES. Mario 3 was great. Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden, Double Dragon, Kirby, classic Zelda. These were games that had names, and HAD to be different. How can you give a new game a gimmik that works? It'd take too long.

    For example:
Mortal Kombat VS Mario - A distinct difference

Mario64 VS Banjo Kazooie(sp) ...I mean. It's all graphics and options. The story lines are half ass, and it just doesn't have staying power.

Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior paved the way for every fighting game you've ever touched after it or Karate Champ. SF2 revolutionized fighting games. I still play the arcade version to this day and have about 4-5 times today. (takes me 10-15 minutes to clear it on the hardest level without losing)

I like an occasional oddball 3d game, but it's getting to be redundant. For instance, Metroid Prime will probably be pretty good at first, but then reality and long-term fun will set in. Mario Sunshine is probably fun though and one of those rare instances just because Mario is usually a very colorful and happy happy silly game.
The world is waiting. I must leave you now.

Uh, yeah... And the point is to find that armor and abilities. When
you get a new ability, you can go more places... I think it's
very fun. Especially when she morphs into a ball... Weeee!

I know. I find it enjoyable to roll around like a fewel for hours and hours instead of doing what I'm supposed to do.

When I saw the first boss, I said: OMFG! That thing's gonna murder me! I beat the crap out of it though. It was a panzie.

I still like Mario Sunshine better. I'm still a bit ........ed ar Mario for dying like right before I got a Shine Sprite that took like 20 minutes to get to, but once I calm down I'll try again. Urge to kill rising...

not saving is half the glory, i still sit around and will play the old mario's for hours on end to beat them. i've beat mario 3 at least 10 times, mario 2 twice, smb at least 20 times, yet i still play them all over and over. sunshine was awesome great, fun, terrific, beat it and put it on the shelf never ot be touched again. but it was fun while ti lasted. new games just don't have the same replay factor as old games do. but i still love them and spend wayyyy too much time with them.

I tottaly agree, 2d games often lose their mood and charm
when being remaked to 3d, of course there are exeptions,
Zelda: Ocraina of time or instance i thought that game really
    had something special

Yeah but that game was so frustrating!! I spent weeks on that Water Temple when I was in yr 6 and still have never passed it. There are so many confusing parts in that game that really ........s me off.

You think that ........es you off? Ever play LOZ: Majora's Mask? Now THERE is a game that ........es you off. The main thing that ........es me off is that NOTHING you do lasts permanently. You have 3 days before the world ends,(due to the moon crashing into Termina) and you constantly have to go back in time and do extra crap. If you like take a poison lake, and revive it, and make it a nice, happy lake again, you have no reason to celebrate. Within 10 mintues, you'll have to go back in time AGAIN, and the lake will be poisoned once again. To Mayamoto and whoever helped him make that game: "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??"

I disagree -- i thought majora's mask was better than TOoT. All you have to do is play the song of time backwards to slow the days down. The cycle lasts over an hour. It really doesn't get in the way much at all.

TOoT was okay, but it was just a rehash of the same cookie cutter Zelda plot/gameplay as A Link to the Past and the original Legen of Zelda (and IMO ALttP did a better job at it than TOoT).

Majora's mask was a new and original plot with new and original gameplay. All of the puzzles that envolve time are great and it gives more life to the town -- people doing things at certain times of the day and being able to change the outcome of the cycle. It's great!

The new Zelda is supposed to be unbelieveable. Famitsu gave it a perfect score and everyone seems to rave as it being the best Zelda game in the series. Not only does it have a new take on graphics, but it's a completely different plot (unlike TOoT/ALttP/LOZ). The cel shading was a bold and ballzie move on Miyamoto's part and the effects that Nintendo has done with it make it look amazing. Not only that, but now people see that a great game can be created with cel-shaded graphics and it will influence more developers to follow suit. A successful Zelda title is exactly what the public needs to see that Cel-shading is as good looking (and in some cases, better looking) than using regular rendering.

I, however, am not a big fan of cell shading. It makes the models look papaer thin.( Altough I must admit, it does sorta look neat^_^)

And Polymorphic OOP believes That Majora's Mask is better than Ocarina of time. I disagree, since Majora's Mask has only two things over OoT:

    -Much better graphics
-Actually has the original Zelda theme

More and better sidequests (IE all the Termina sidequests), better temples (The water temple in Majora's Mask was great and so was the one that you had to flip the entire temple upside down -- been a while since i played, don't remember the name), being able to switch to a goron, deku scrub, and a zora, etc.

The only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of new character models: Honestly, how hard is it to make a few new ones!
