    damn popup banners

these popup banners are really annoying, they keep on blocking your view and they have fake quit buttons. Please get rid of them. If you are having bandwidth problems then just reduce the max avatar and attachment size.

Please Mr.Unregistered, tell us how to improve the site, we really *care* about what you have to say. Opera blocks the pop up ads, and who cares how the ads look, who looks at them anyway. Its not as if this is the onlys site with ads.

it is unclosealbe popups that bother me. And i don't want any of your "mister unregistered" crap, I have been going here for years. Oh and I have a pop up stoper but I don't bother with it. And I try to avoid using IE (I have mozilla and netscape 4.7)but its what I was using when I encountered this annoying pop up. (while using another computer)

unclosable popup? i've never had one of those... alt+f4 is no good?

are the ads part of vBulletin, or is cprogramming paid to have them up? anyone know? either way, i can only imagine they're there to keep the board free, so i'm not complaining... that's just me though.

CProg uses eyeblaster ads too now?

I've been suppressing all the ads (popup and banner) here for a while, this is the only site where they are so bad I resort to such measures.

Well, its the webmaster's decision how he runs ads, personally I think he (or more likely tthe group he payed to handle the ads) does a ........-poor job of it (and if he has gone to eyeblasters especially so) , but whatever, doesn't bother me if I don't see it.

No kidding. Just download Opera and be done with it. Also I don't think the downloading is that bad with Opera, what do you mean?

i mean with IE, when you click on a link directly to a file (a .zip, .exe, etc), a dialog comes up, asks you where you want to save, and then another one comes up and shows the progress as it downloads. with opera, the second dialog doesn't come up, so i don't know how long it's got left. i believe the file usually does download.. i just never know when it's done
